Forums - Nintendo - Zelda U: it might actually support motion controls!

Oh God I hope not. SS was one of the worst Zelda games Ive ever played, a large part of it being because of motion controls... I wont buy Zelda U at all if it uses motion controls :P I hate motion controls with a passion

I really like motion controls in SS. It was imo great for the items like beetle, bow and rolling bombs. And as for the fighting, sure it had a few flaws, but it made the combat interesting thill the end of the game, unlike OoT, MM and WW where all you do is boringly spam A!A!A!A!A! till your opponent is dead.

It's most likely an optional control set up with the Wiimote, ala Twilight Princess Wii, but will obviously have other control options (GamePad, probably Pro U controller). Skyward Sword isn't the only motion control Zelda.

That wouldn't be the end of the world for me, but I know a lot of people would be annoyed if they came back.

Actually, they worked fine for me in SS, guess I was just one of the lucky ones though.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

You say that now, but I do believe Nintendo will use the gamepad like never before in this game, so you will have a lot of fun with this feature instead of motion controls, which, in my opinion, are not that cool anymore.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

They will utilize the gamepad I'm sure. Motion controls would really hurt sales.

Skyward Sword was praised by many, but also criticized for having motion controls.

Personally I love the motion controls and believe that all Zelda games should continue this way. Just an opinion!

Anyways, GameXplain released another Zelda U trailer analysis.

As pointed out by some of his viewers, Link is actually right handed since he hold the arrow with his right hand and bow with his left. Another thing to keep in mind, he keeps his sword on the right side of his horse.

Link is only right handed in Twilight princess and Skyward Sword, both of which had motion controls, so could this game support motion controls?

I am sayin support motion controls cuz i want it to be optional for everyone to enjoy.

If it's optional, fine. But if it's mandatory? Fudge that! I have a Wii-U and only a Wii-U so every big Nintendo game is like a four course meal to a starving person for me. I hate motion controls for core games (casual games are fine with them) which is why I didn't even give SS a chance.

I know it's an unpopular opinion but after I was done playing SS 2 years ago, I really thought that motion controls was the way to go for future Zelda titles. Unfortunetly, I think that were going back to regular controls with the new zelda on wiiU.

Predictions for LT console sales:

PS4: 120M

XB1: 70M

WiiU: 14M

3DS: 60M

Vita: 13M

I like the gamepad for some games (Wonderful 101, Zombi-u etc.) but I hope we can also play with the pro controller. It's by far the most comfortable controller this gen and I could love to play a core Zelda with it.

No matter how good a gamer is, motion controls aren't ever going to be 100% acurate and proficient as buttons and sticks. That's just a fact. I don't think core games should be motion only for that reason alone.
