Brilliant news that the PS4 has surpassed 10 million sold to consumers!! I expected that their conference would open with an impressive numbers update

That's not how it works when VGC had several other data points to go of since launch. The latest being NPD and the official 7m sold announcement from Sony. They are like a third off despite recent adjustments

Those are estimates and those can be wrong.

But I did say before that the tracking outside of the US and Japan is really the sketchiest.

In USA they have NPD, so that's half of the numbers given them (although culculations are needed to separate PSV, PS3 & PS4 sales). Then they have official announcements. Last numbers given to them were when Sony announced 7M. A few months later, even with NPD numbers, they are out 700k plus. Depend how far the PS4 is over 10M.Could be more that 700k.

For a site that wants to sell VGC Pro and be known for accurate numbers, that's pretty bad.

i think that was clear when official shipments came in and PS4 shipments were aruond 3:1 to 3DS Shipments. (assuming PS4 was around 2.5M shipped)
