I haven't said that, I still firmly believe if it's on PC then it's not exclusive. MS doesn't own the PC hardware, anyone saying Ryse and Dead Rising 3 are MS exclusive are just fooling themselves.

Well, I don't entirely agree with you, unless you consider Games for Windows Live a good thing, which I hope not :(

Well I can't really judge GFWL since I never used the service, but I hear others say how bad it was/is though.

I think the problem has been with a few Xbox users who have been saying things like "XBO has way more exclusives than PS4... you can't count LBP because its on PS3, you can't count Planetside it's on PC. I think people are just giving some of that back.

Personally I don't think its a good idea that all their exclusives are ending up on PC (I wanted to buy an XBO just for Dead Rising 3).. but not I will probably just wait for the PC version and get that. Saving me save on my desk and lots of cash.

Now it does actually seem that many of the decisions to go onto PC were out of MS's hands. For example the Ryse deal seems like it was a console exclusive only. Same with many of their 2nd party offerings it seems. To make a game console only exclusive would probably cost more because there is more risk involved for the company making it.

To me this is not the right question as to me gaming on PC is something different to gaming on console. Yes, I know you can connect your PC to TV, I know of the steam interface and so on but to me the experience is totally different and PC gaming for most people is not plug and play like on consoles.

There are a lot of reasons why people buy consoles instead of gaming PCs and it is not only games.

I'm not saying the reasoning makes sense, I'm saying this is going to become a big bone of contention. Many MANY XB1 fans are fond of pointing out (incorrectly) that the XB1 has more exclusives ... Hell even the media have bought this false narrative. But from now on, the 'list wars' are going to be hell for any XB1 owner who dares to try and continue promoting the idea of more exclusives.

Which is funny because PS4 has more actual exclusives than Xbox One does.

Utterly ridiculous. Exclusives are the main selling point for consoles. Remove them and expect your console to fail. This is a self destructive move and MS will soon realise it when they look at their sales figures.

Is it not more the fact that MS dont own either Dr3 or Ryse, the IP is owned by there respective developers and they only paid enough to keep it on MS platforms.

Should have paid more to keep it there.

Why? They already spent enough to not have it on Playstation.

More games on Windows deters people from moving to SteamOS as well.

Even if they loss on it they would have still moved more consoles into peoples homes which would boost the install base for big upcoming games like Halo 5.

Yeah, these "arguments" are new to this generation, they can just say it's console exclusive or some subset, but PCs in the end are another category of devices, and unless the games appear in the official windows store they may as be on linux as far as direct revenue goes (indirectly having a large library of software makes your OS easier to sell...

So this new thing is just trolling, they want to hold on to something?

This has been going on for a while now.

Other games can boost console sales more than keeping DR3 and Ryse on Xbox One. Also, they're just moving to Windows which is kind of neutral ground.

By the time Halo 5 comes, the X1 will already have received numerous other console movers.

Hence, keeping more games coming is more important than stopping DR3 or Ryse from going to Windows.

How much did TitanFall sell on PC like 1.5 mil? Thats 1.5 mil XB1s at most that Microsoft has lost.

And PS4 potentially lost 2 million sales by not having Titanfall. PS4 lost another million for not having DR3. And maybe another million for not having Ryse!

This is a stupid argument.

No its not a stupid argument, its right. That is completely right. However, the PS4 is in first place right now. Not to mention, the XB1 would looe all the sales that the PS4 gained.

Its an estimate, at best thats a console per game sale which is of course unrealistic, but it sets an upper bound, the number of consoles sold because of a game cannot exceed the games sales, except on the offchance that the consumer buys the console but doesn't get the game. However, once this occurs he/she no longer has the game as a reason for the console.
