are you serious...?wii u will even or beat n64...gc sold 22m with ps2...wii u will sell 15-17 or under?....with ps4 which hasnt the dynamics of ps2 or even ps1 in a market thats bigger that 6thgen market...oh my god...wii u could be 11m by the end of 2014...recently you were saying 20-25m, what happened?under 20m predictions are just frustrating...

I know reality must be fustrating, but Wii U is selling much worse than GC in the same timeframe.

i m repeating my answer ...which i gave in a similar post
ps3 had a bad start ,now 82.6m sold...xbone is the fastest selling xb console, thats mean will outsell xbox360...?NO!i completely disagree with these alignments, because they misleading us and dont prove anything...! also...dear you wrote as of march 31,mk8 released on 29-30th may..so things might  chabge...as for japan ,ps4 is doing 5k but is doing great in other territories!wii u currently is outselling, xbone is this mean that xbone will sell also under 20m ?                                               i dont care for gc  sales in  the same period...it s just pointless for me... keep this :also...dear you wrote as of march 31,mk8 released on 29-30th may..so things might change.

You made comparisons to GC yourself, and the dynamics of the competition and the bigger market, but Wii U is on the market since almost 2 years in this environment and hasn't shown some advantage over GC.

As for Wii U outselling XB1 (maybe, according to VGC) around the lanuch of MK8 does not make a trend.  Both of them will have better months when they get big games.

wait for my upcoming topic...it will suprise you!what i m trying to said...wii u being outsold by gamecube doesnt mean anything... as i have xbone is outselling xbox360 aligned,is this mean that xbone will hit 80+ also wii u first year was so close to xbox360 ps3 first year,so also wii u hill 70+... comparing with predecessor sales is wrong,i didnt compare sales...but facts...

PS4 by the end of 2014: somewhere around 15 million

Wii U lifetime: 20-25 million

So Wii U

I don't see it reaching that high. 15-17m.

I had that Wii U prediction for over a year now, so I think I'll just stick with it unless there's a really dramatic change. But yeah it could possibly end up lower.

Recently? I said that 2 posts above and that's still my general prediction, 20-25 million. Also there is literally nothing point to the Wii U beating or equaling the N64, since right now it can't even reach GC levels.

I was confused with the OP at first and was reading that WiiU would outsell PS4 this current year lmao. But of course WiiU will sell more lifetime than PS4 just this year xD

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

I know you are comparing facts, but you're missing a lot of facts.

Other "facts" to compare are Wii U is more expensive, has worse developer support, and is not even close to technical parity with it's competitors.

Ok, now you guys are just mocking the Wii U... -.-

Nope. We are having a discussion about PS4's success. Why do you think people are mocking Wii U?

Pfffffft.

Wii u lifetime sales will be higher obviously. Geez the Wii u's not even a failure it will probably end second in lietime sales this Gen.

Well going by vgchartz analysts I will say the wii u. The wii u is making a comeback and closing the gap vs the ps4. MK8 is bringing in the casuals. Hyrule warriors and bayonetta 2 will bring in the hardcore and help them not sell 750k lifetime each. SSBU will sell a lot of wii Us. All of this combined with the fact that the ps4 is ''going in the wrong direction'' will help the wii u sell more than the ps4 globally in the US.

Post of the Generation right here.

Thanks jlmurph!

Probably second... to bottom of all home consoles (1st place going to the Dreamcast).

just curious as to how a system which is int he last week Worldwide was outsold nearly 2-1 can "close the gap"  last week ps4 sold over 100k and WiiU sold just over 50k.  thats not closing the gap, thats the opposite of closing the gap its widening there.  and just for point of clarification the last week of may is the closest the WiiU has come to selling as good as the ps4 and even then it was still outsold by 40k.

To the question though, i would be shocked if the WiiU didnt have better lifetime sales then anyone year of the ps4.  im expecting the WiiU to hit roughly 20+ million units my prediction will be 17 million will be the best the ps4 does in a single year. and ill go as far to say that year will be its 3rd year, or 2017 assuming we count 2014 as its first year.
