that's pretty good! I'm sure it will pas the 1.6m mark and outsell the original since it has at least four more years to sell and with the Nintendo select that will come later in the gen 2m does not seem far fetched


I thought people said Pikmin 3 bombed lol

Why does pikmin sound so much like pokemon?

Except I missed something, OP doesn't show how pikmin 3 is somehow a 3 million seller.

So interestingly Pikmin 3 and the top 13 games overall (these include retail games Wii Party U+LoZ WW HD) all have way above 132k in digital sales.

You are paying for it by buying MK8, so it is a sale. You need to "Purchase" a product to get the free one. I dont see the difference with this and bundling digital sales. Evn Nintendo includes LoZ WW HD free sales and its the same thing as this. (buy the wiiu limited edition, get a code for LoZ WW HD free)


I see, good point. Well, it's good news for me because I adore the Pikmin franchise. I hope it becomes a staple for Nintendo going forward.

Here is the problem, we only kno that in the US eshop, the top 13 games are all over 132k. LoZ WW HD is the highest sold game and Pikmin is currently #3 (#2 for retail game).

As MK8 is still at 13th with Wii Party U at 12th currently and the 132k is from July 5th. Pikmin 3 was currently in the top 15 before the promotion even started. 132k is the absolute minimum. For all we know Pikmin 3 digital sales can be over 200k, maybe even 300k!

Unfortunately all we kno is anything in the top 13 and/or is above MK8 has alot of sales (US only). Europe had 10 games to choose from so the sales probably wont favor Pikmin+LoZ as much as in the US (due to 4 games to choose from).

NSMBU is also above 132k, but the difference with that and LoZ is tht they been in the top way before MK8 showed up (LoZ been #1 for almost a year now!)

I see. So there isn't actually any numbers, just piecing together stuff via press releases.
