Forums - Nintendo - Bayonetta and Devil's Third are a good start.

Bayonetta has always been a great game. It's the real successor to DMC, the greatest and most revolutionary game in the genre.

Just because people prefer a different tone to their games doesn't mean we have to insult them. I know there are some who won't play a game just because they're embarrassed by how it looks, but there are some who just prefer a darker tone.

Yeah Zelda and Mario are all Nintendo fans really need. The purpose of this though was to talk about games Nintendo could salvage to pad their lineup while reaching out to a completely different audience.

For example, if Sony dropped LBP and offered to sell it, I don't think Nintendo should buy it because they already have the cute and platformer crowds pretty much on lock. Most people interested in LDP are likely to be interested in Mario as well. That money could be better spent on something like an exclusive RE2 Remake. That's an audience that has little overlap with Mario and the like, so even with milder software sales than LBP, it could still sell more hardware.

Not is it not being made by Nintendo, it wouldn't be the first time a 1st party published title ends up on another system.

Not that I'm predicting or expecting it, but this is still laughable.

It's a game made by Nintendo and totally financed by Nintendo. Nintendo hold all the rights of Bayonetta.

Not even close to your distribution deal (Ninja Gaiden) Sould Calibur 2 was also published by Nintendo on GC with Link in it. But it wasn't a Nintendo game.

Once again, you're just completely wrong. Platinum Games owns the IP and is developing the game. Nintendo is just publishing it. Publishing is more than just distribution.

For a LOT of Playstation/Xbox owners, the lack of genre depth on Nintendo consoles is a major issue. Adding atypical content can only help.

Just give them their yearly FIFA and COD and they will be fine

Stereotype much?  I owned a ps3 almost all it's life and only got COD4. Never played a FIFA game yet there was lots to play. Oh the horror

good for you. Does the word "lot" means something to you?

Devil's Third has been looking more interesting with the talk of its multiplayer, which looks like barrels of goofy fun :)

I know right? It has some pretty crazy things for multiplayer.

My biggest draw is the crazy approach. It's like if they turned a DMC styled game into a multiplayer game with FPS elements.

All Nintendo systems will have few mature games but I don't think Nintendo will ever become a "mature company", they have always appealed to the casual market since the SNES

I don't think anyone wants Nintendo to become a "mature company." A wider variety of tones is always a good thing though. There's only so many rainbow sunshine happy days I can take before I want to go crawling through a jungle eating snakes and killing gru soldiers.

Not really a lack of genres. It just doesnt have 50 of each...

The problem with nintendo games is not the lack of genres,but the cartoonish look every damn time;

They have a cartoonish fighting game(Smash brothers)

They have a cartoonish Racing game(Mario kart)

They have a cartoonish RPG(xenoblade)

They have a cartoonish platformer(Mario world)

They have a cartoonish Adventure(Zelda)

They have a cartoonish Sport(mario's spin offs)

They have a cartoonish Social(wii something)

They have a cartoonish TPShooter(Metroid)

Although they are diferent games with diferent genres,the target demographic is basically the same.That's why even the mighty mario kart wasn't enough to make WiiU sell 100/week.It's basically the Titanfall's problem,the people who want it already had the machine.

This wouldn't be a problem if WiiU had a decent third party support though.But the lack of games like GTA,The witcher 3,Batman Arkham knight(for example) make this "Cartoonish fest" even more noticeable.

Nintendo needs to make "mature",non-cartoonish,non-family friendly games.Something like eternal darkness for example.(please :()

Cell Shaded != Cartoon.

There's only been one cartoony mainline Zelda, and it was arguably the best one to date. New Zelda isn't cartoony at all.
