I don't see what the big deal is. Is it that much of a burden to click on the games tab and see all your games? If you really had a lot of games they wouldn't fit there anyway.

Lol. Hello, you have no idea about the layout of the xbox360 dashboard.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

yea, I think it's not a big issue (I never used a 360/One though), as long as there is no flashing/self starting/ "wait .. seconds" type crap there

somebody said he felt the interface was a bit laggy due to fetching the ads, which does sound like a bit of an annoyance, just like time the PS3 needs to load icons etc is annoying and something you should give feedback about, but not really a reason to be outraged about

People are actually defending ads on the UI of a electronics device? Wow!

I'm really lost for words on this one but people need to understand that you shouldn't have to see ads on a device that you paid for and pay yearly subscription to. It's absolutly insane when you also consider that you have to pay for every game you play.

Please lets not compare this to cable because it's not the same.

These are the same people who say "It's Ok you tried to kill game ownership and ship a trojan horse in our houses MS" we forgive you cause PR reasons. People are sheep, xbox fans are amongst the worst. X1 and MS the faster they get out of gaming the better.,

I don't want to get into who is worse but nobody should defend ads on a device you have paid for, pay subscription for and have to pay the games for. If one of those 3 were free, then fair game.

I've had a 360 that I use regularly for six years so I'm pretty sure that I do.

Xbox fans will defend anything MS, ignore them, it is assinine to see ads all over xbox, PS and nintendo don't have any. it is just who MS is. Thye don't care about gaming never have, it was a way to get a trojan horse into the living room, luckily they showed there hand and it failed.

What's the difference?

Idk......... Ive had a 360 for so long, at this point when I turn it on I know exactly what I want to do, and I don't have to look for it, I just press A............the adds were never an issue for me.

Gamers, man.  Gamers.  We LOOK for things to complain about.  Just like how somebody complained about how they now have to reach so far to press the LB/RB buttons on the Xbox One controller compared to the 360 controller --when the buttons are the exact same distance as before except the empty space on the 360 controller has been replaced with larger buttons.  It's like some people wake up looking for something to get mad about.

Or maybe some have better standards in a product then you..An add filled garbage dashboard is not waht i want in my games console OS, and i don;t blame them. It is there right, they are not wrong or being inreasonable.

Damn!  Banned already.  Hope you get to see this message and know that you've inspired me to raise my standards.  I'll do my best to raise my standards to your level.  I'll never be inreasonable again.

I can assure you it isn't "laggy". You don't have to wait for everything to load until you can play your game, for example (and given 360 uses only 32mb of the ram to make the dashboard happen makes it even more incredible to me).

Quite a lot considering that only appears when hovering over the "what's new" category. Press any direction on the D-pad and they'll completely disappear. 1 out of around 50 icons in the XMB are dedicated to advertisements, not 30 out of 50.

Also helps that those ads seem far more relevant to gamer's interests.

I only see there one advert which might not interest gamers: G.I Joe: la Venganza :P. Press the Left button or Right button and they'll completely disappear too.

Also helps that all those ads seem relevant to the gamer's interest. Especially the "Gratis" section ;)
