Something that doesn't sell shouldn't have over 5 millions owners in under a year.

2.3 in nearly 10 months truely shows its market failure.

Not necessarily, we have to wait and see what impact the holidays have.

For example, this is how 360 sales looked through the months. http://www.vgchartz.com/tools/hw_yoy.php?reg=Global&start_year=2011&end_year=2014&console=X360

PROTIP: Look how November and December differ from January - October.

Quality numbers all year great holidays, comapre to awful all year for X1 and likely low holidays.

you are dreaming if you think X1 will pull that in this nov/dec

I'm saying 2.3 (or maybe 2.6) million in the first 10 months isn't the whole picture for 2014. That number could double after November and December.

That's all.

5/6m for the year, thats brutal.

Actually they are, that's why the XB1 is easily beating the Wii U every single week in the US.

Xbox one sales in USA alone is doing just as good as the Wii U world wide sales.

So you're saying that because some 3rd party titles look a little better on PS4, it actually makes the Xbone's 3rd party situation WORSE than Wii U, which sees next to no AAA 3rd party support? Sorry, but uh...

Also, keeping with that same logic, I guess then that the PC is the only platform that 3rd party games are a selling point on.

Agreed!

Inferior ports didn't stop the PS2, and to a lesser extent the PS3 before 2011.

LOL except the PS2 came out 1.5 years before the original Xbox.  Everyone keeps forgetting this!  Of course the PS2 was weaker, it was noticably older and cheaper!!!

As for the PS3, the difference was almost always negligable.  None of my friends thought it looked worse, and the inclusion of built-in HDMI (Remember the Original 360 didn't have that) usually made PS3 versions look better anyways.

If brutal means doing well enough to continue getting great support and selling a significant amount of software, I guess I agree.

LOL joke thread is a joke.

Then again it was put out in July during the dead of summer... now the 3rd party heavy hitters are starting to release for X1 and you are starting to see just what they can do for hardware, especially in North America.

As for the Wii U, nothing except Smash is going to push units this holiday season, and with no centralized game to push the Nintendo NFC figurines the way Skylanders and Disney Infinity do for example, they won't be a big selling point either.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
