Well, good news for MS considering where they were in May. Might be a close one with PS4 in June then. All Three consoles are still waaaaay too low for the months of May and June.

Nintendo Wii-U sales would also easily double without the tablet.

They announce the price drop in May... People stop buying the console because, well why wouldn't they wait a month and save $100? Then sales double in June when the backlog of consumers that were going to buy the console in May buy it as well as your standard June numbers, meanwhile PS4 continue to outsell XBox 1 at an almost 2 to 1 rate.

How the fuck is this exciting news for Xbox? It means that even with their price drop tactics they still can't out sell their competitor, even in their own country the margin in negligible.

Or they are just looking at it a little more objectively. This has nothing to do with PS3. Bringing up the PS3 in this thread is damage control at best. Nobody cares what happened 7 years ago in a different gen with a different console from a different company.

Let us just assume for the moment that they are in fact back to April sales rate. Due to that previous sales rate (April) they chose to effectively kill the Kinect by dropping it from the XBox One. They did this to increase sales from the April base line.

If the best the Kinect less SKU and $100 price drop did was basically keep it where it was in April (before the price cut announcement), how is that good? They might be right back to the sales that initially spurred the price drop and ditching of Kinect.

Is it doom? No, but it isn't anything MS is getting all giddy about either.

NPD will give us a better idea. Only a few hours to go.

How is it not? In these dry months sales are usually low. It's at least a (small) achievement. Yes, it's not doing PS4 numbers. But given its price and given that it's a new system with very few games worth it's selling good, in my opinion.
