Here is what another article said about this poll: Now, to be fair, this is just an online poll, and its sample is probably not a fair representation of China’s gaming market. The audience could also be biased in favor of the PS4; it’s probably posted elsewhere too, but I found it in an article that mentions Sony in the title. The Xbox One is also discussed in the article itself, but the Sony headline might be attracting more Playstation fans than Xbox fans. |
If your problem with the article is possible biases, then you should have said that. But you said that it's "just 5000 people, so I wouldn't give this much importance". Well, I did a sampe size caluclator, and with a population of 1.3B, to have a 95% confidence level with a confidence interval of 1.25, you'd need 6147 respondents.
My prior post addressed reading based on preferences, so I don't think I should repeat the same point.
Now, I'm not giving this survey 100% of my confidence, or saying it is 100% true about the population of China. I'm just saying that you shouldn't just blow it off based on A. sample size, since it has more than enough and B. potential biases, because like Burek and I said, preference doesn't prevent you from reading articles

I've seen a Chinese comment that said "Isn't Xbox just guns, sports, and racing"

I've read WiiU articles about X and MK8. I have the faintest interest in getting a WiiU. Your argument is invalid. Some people read articles because their interest in gaming as a whole supercedes a console preference. I know I do, and a rule of thumb is that you're never the only one that does something. If you look at my post history, you'll see that I've ripped on the XBone before. I still read up on its features and updates, just to be educated about the product. I don't see myself getting one anytime soon though. See where I'm going with this? It's not 100% of the time that your interest leads you to the article/news. Sometimes you read the article/news for the sake of knowing about something. It's not like NetEase is some PS news site, like PS-Extreme or PSU (which you could, there, make the case for "they were already interested in PS4). It's a popular online services provider (ranked 27th by Alexa). |
I was obviously speaking in general.
My point is still valid. You will not get an unbiased result out of poll like that.
It's like putting a xbox vs playstation poll in the Playstation Nation thread. you will never end with a representative result.

Yeah, like chinese people will buy american product, pffft...
Sure because these 6000 people represent a country of over 1 billion people lol
Nice try though. We all know the Chinese hate the Japanese.

Like they give a fuck about the Americans too, right?

6000 samples is enough to make a consensus and besides most of the gamers are younger people so they could care less about what happened in the past. The only ones with the grudges are people above the age of 50 and It's highly doubtful that they'd play video games.
Disappointed now ?
