we can't just let this go, can we?

MLB The Show is a good game, but I was referring to "flagship" titles, like Infamous, Killzone, God of War, Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlantet, etc. Maybe even new original content perhaps.
The Show is a good game, but good sports games are a dime a dozen now.
And yes, Infamous was good, Entwined was solid but not really a major title, and Driveclub still has 3 months to go. TLOU is a remastered port, so it's not original content, which is what disappoints me. There really hasn't been an appealing game from Sony (at least for me) since Infamous.
But, you're right, it will only (hopefully) get better from here. I just wish I didn't have to spend an entire season without PS4 games. At least I have the Destiny beta to look forward to, I guess.

Well, with everyone making posts slamming people who don't like TLOU remastered, I wanted to make a post showing the other side.

its unrealistic to release a flagship tittle every season of every year. you are gonna have the less appealing games like MLB and to a even more extent enwinted sooner or later come out and try fill the void. but its not like PS4 didnt have any games release for it lately. Watch Dogs came out, MLB, Transistor, Wolfestien, UFC. yes, they arent Uncharted or Destiny, but come on, this is the summer of the first year of the console, what did you really expect?
Watch Dogs, Wolfstien, and transistor are all in the 80~ meta score range. they are good games.
after playing bastion, i would honestly recommend Transistor, i havent played it myself, but after the awesomness off bastion im sure this is a great game too.

Transistor is a fun game, I play it on PC.
Now, I'm referring to Sony titles only here, since they are the biggest content provider so early in the generation.
Flagship games come out one or two a season, and this early in the generation Sony needs to provide, since there are few AAA third-party titles to look forward to right away. Wolfenstein is decent, but not quite great. Watch Dogs was decent, but not great as well. Overall, the summer has been rather mediocre, and I hope that this is the floor of the PS4 in terms of games, with the rest of the lifecycle being much better.

I just hate the fact that its less than one year old and its the only first party game during the summer... I don't think anyone has anything against the game considering how 2013 was basically last of us awards but its just come on... One year old game? Really? If you are gonna remaster a game, remaster one that needs a remaster like how Microsoft is doing (can't believe I just said that)... Heck, their Master Chief collection includes 4 games and games like Halo 2 needed a remaster cause it looks like shit this day and age...
Like I get it, Its a business decision... People on the ps4 don't have much to play right now and the last of us looks really good graphically so there isn't much work to be done compared to older games so its an easy cash grab and almost guaranteed sales but if thats all it takes for people to rebuy the game, then maybe Sony's logic of having a handheld filled with mostly ports isn't as crazy as I thought it was
And then the other obvious argument is, well, what about the people that havn't played it, now its their chance to play it and it is a valid argument but the issue is that once again, they could have chose something else to remaster that needed a remastering... I am sure Sony has a library of games that people would eat up if it gotten remastered and I really hate cash grab tactics which this whole industry seems to be filled with..
If you want to rebuy or buy the Last of Us on the ps4, than more power to you but just remember if you are "rebuying" the game that its the little stuff which people support that grows to be a pain in the ass in the future (Just like how Mandatory Online payment, cash grabbing DLC, Micro-transactions and etc are)

Completely agree. It could be a dangerous trend.

If you guys don't like it, seriously, start your own studio and show Sony how to do better. Otherwise, you're complaining about something you don't have to buy, on a console you didn't have to buy, in said consoles first year of life, which everyone knows starts with relatively few first party blockbusters. People act like had they not remastered TLOU, Uncharted 4 would be out or something...yeah, keep dreaming.

Sony hasnt been the best it could be when it comes to games, im telling you that. but they arent doing a horrid job. they are releasing games, but the first year is expected to be one of the weakest. just look at PS3 and PS2's first year, they arent that stellar either. and The Order was Delayed, which is something sony couldnt really control, but look at DriveClub and look at how it benifited from the delay, it was better to delay it than just releasing it for the sake of release.
Personally this summer is weak for me too, with me just started to play infamous last week, as i kept it for the summer. but again, it was expected to have a slow summer. it will get better, next year we already have The Order and Bloodborne confirmed for early 2015. we have Rime and Everybody's gone to the rapture, and Uncharted confirmed for 2015, we still dont know when. and we still have gamescom, TGS and VGX for more game reveals, its getting better. now we have a summer, that we both agree isnt the best, and they are releasing a remaster of one of the best admited games in history for it. a game that is honestly still a year old and still pretty relevant.
