Infamous came out in spring, not summer. MLB is oriented towards the niche baseball fandom, and was also a spring game. Entwined is a relatively small game, little more than a blip. And you know what? A lot of the games you keep mentioning were already available on different consoles. I didn't buy a PS4 for ports. I'm trying to give some constructive criticism, let's not pretend that Sony has blown this gen out of the park in terms of software, because they haven't. I'm still satisfied with my PS4 though, since I love Destiny and am looking forward to playing the beta. Commenting on the lack of summer support doesn't mean I hate the console. |
but honestly i'm done with you after reading this.
"And gens don't have to start off slow. The Wii U had Pikmin 3 in its first summer,.."
complaining about the ps4's first year line up and then referencing the wiiU as an example of how gens don't have to start off slow. yeah great, pikmin in august and nothing in january through august. yeah, i've got more cents in my couch...

If any console needed a game for summer, the last one to be considered would be the PS4. Typically, games are released when demand needs to be high, like not summer.

Well its 60fps, which according to alot on here means last years 30fps game is unplayable in comparison.
/sarcasm
OT:
PS4 has clearly adopted alot of 360 gamers so there is a market for a port already, and remember this isnt just any game its the second highest rated game of last year, same reason were seeing a port of GTA5 this year, that being the highest rated game of last year.
None of the 3 have a big first party game this summer. Other than Sony's TLOU.

There are tons of indie games, which is nice. Just no major AA or AAA titles from Sony is disappointing (other than MLB perhaps). And gens don't have to start off slow. The Wii U had Pikmin 3 in its first summer, along with WWHD soon after (which was a remake, but of a game far older than TLOU, and much more redesigned). |
So sony had one less game than Nintendo...one of which was a remake.
If it wasn't for the fact that there are some strong 3rd party offerings on PS4 this fall, I would have sold my PS4 and put the funds towards upgrading my vid card on the PC ( I get close to Xbone quality at this point)
" Rebellion Against Tyrants Is Obedience To God"
It's just a con really. I loved TLOU and completed it on all modes and did all the side stuff etc. Great game!
However to get the remaster is about £40 here. You could by the PS3 version for around £10. Is there really anything that different with the game to warrant paying basically 70% extra? The graphics are improved but only slightly. It isn't a huge jump in quality at all. I think doing remasters of games that are only a year or so old is stupid. Games that are pretty old i.e FFX are a great idea as without the backwards compatibility you get to relive some of the best games made from days gone by in HD.
If the game was say £15 then I would go for it if I had not played it. But to price it at full price as if it is a new game is a joke.
Why not? Plenty of people didn't own a PS3 and own or will own a PS4, so it makes perfect sense. Even some PS3 owners didn't get to play it since some sold their systems to make way for the PS4. I think of it more of as a GOTY edition that takes advantage of what the PS4 could do. To each his own, but in the grand scheme of things I think it is a great idea.
A remaster of other first party games that released prior to the next gen buzz I might not agree with.
Playstation = The Beast from the East
Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

That's great, still don't care. Don't buy it in the first 12 months if you can't handle the dry spells. You can say whatever you like...and yet, I still don't care. :) More people appear to be appeased than not, so...that's all I really care about. |
Alright, it's fine that you don't care, but in that case mind your own business instead of telling me when I should buy my consoles. I've never had this bad of a summer with a new console, and I've bought plenty of consoles release-day.

I think you should learn to wait for games to come. AAA games aren't made in a month or even a year or two, so you can't just expect them to come out regularly. Besides, unlike Nintendo consoles, PlayStation consoles are about both first-party and third-party games, not just first-party games, and you should look at it that way. That is the kind of ecosystem of a PS console. But if ALL what you want is Sony first-party games, you will have to wait only till October, when they will slowly start streamrolling in. Just look at it: 1) DriveClub (October) 2) LBP 3 (November) 3) The Order: 1886 (February) Of course that's only the ones announced. We have yet to see all that they have in store for us. |
Except Sony had years before the PS4 was released to do planning and development. Even in previous gens the summer spell wasn't quite so bad that the only major first-party game was a remaster.
And, once again, I know there are more games on the way. I'm referring to the 4 months of June-September that Sony seemed to have ignored for the most part.
You're Gonna Carry That Weight.
