Forums - Gaming - Remasters aren't bad, but having the one major summer first-party game be one is.

looks over at the xbox camp.

TLoU vs. nothing.

...like really nothing.  not even a big third party game unless you count madden.  i mean, not everyone loves every indie game but 7 games over the 3 summer months is pathetic.

so why are you still complaining again?

I came here expecting this to be another the The last of Us thread. not disappointed.

I don't know, I think you forget (like a lot of people do) that this is still the first year of the console and for a first year console it has already released two exclusive titles this year already. Not including indies. I don't think the XB1 is getting anything exclsuive (except maybe indies and even that I am not sure) from Titanfall till when sunset overdrive/forza comes out later this year or which ever comes first. At least on the PS4 we are getting TLoU.

I would be fully with you if this was the second year of the PS4 though bit come on.... the console isn't even one year old yet.

Sony had years to make develop exclusive games. Nintendo had Pikmin 3 in their first summer and WWHD (which is essentially a complete remake of a game over a decade old) following soon after.

Also, last gen during the first summer the PS3 Warhawk ready for the PS3, which was actually great and popular for a while, not to mention being a completely original title.

Compare Sony's output the year before PS4 released and Nintendo's output the year before Wii U released. Not surprising that Nintendo had slightly more to offer during Wii U's first year.

Usually nothing comes out in the Summer (LoU was supposed to be Spring and got delayed when it first came out) so I'm happy with anything before September

Because I'm not comparing the consolea here. Just because Microsoft has nothimg ready doesn't mean Sony shouldn't as well. I'm more concerned for the system I own.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

I never would have thought that Sony putting The Last of Us on PS4 would have got so many panties bunched up. Man, some people just want to whine about everything, literally.

Why does there need to be exclusive first party content? There's watchdogs and maybe destiny can just squeeze in as a summer release. That's enough new content for the summer slow period. TLOU remastered is just a bit extra on the side to entice people who never owned PS3 to pick up a GOTG level game with ps4. And on that count it us actually a pretty slick move.

Ok, thinking the library is sparse is one thing, but being concerned about the console you own, which happens to be dominating this new generation of consoles?  Really?  What possible reason, could you have for concern?  An exclusive isn't releasing in your timeframe?  Maybe I'm just being optimistic, but I know Sony has a hell of allot more studios than just the ones who've actually announced the names of the IP they're working on.  Sure, it might not be out this year, but...do we seriously think they're just sitting around twiddling their thumbs?

And it's a bummer you don't like the game, but...not every game is made specifically to please you.  No offense, but there are currently 39 titles listed as having sold 10K+ on the PS4, if you can't find something to satisfy you for the dry months, you should probably rethink buying consoles w/in their first year of launch.

well if you think entwinded, and TLoU, and mlb, and hokokum, and infamous first light, and pixel junk shooter is just enough first party content to be putting out this summer than maybe you'll find something you like in the swapper, or metro redux, or road not taken, or minecraft, or plants vs zombies GW, or madden, or diablo, or oddworld, or the witness, or ufc, or rogue legacy, or mousecraft, or guacamelee, or valient hearts.   and if it's still a no,.. then honestly just go cry about it quietly.   don't buy a console in the first 12 months if you expect stellar support.  by first year's standards sony has done an amazing job getting content onto their system.  like massively amazing.

Nintendo made that mistake with the 3DS in 2011.

Why are people naming MLB 14 as a summer release? That game came out in May, 6 weeks before summer started.
