Forums - Gaming - Remasters aren't bad, but having the one major summer first-party game be one is.

MLB The Show was not a summer release lol. May is not summer.

TLoU vs. nothing.

...like really nothing.  not even a big third party game unless you count madden.  i mean, not everyone loves every indie game but 7 games over the 3 summer months is pathetic.

so why are you still complaining again?

Because I'm not comparing the consolea here. Just because Microsoft has nothimg ready doesn't mean Sony shouldn't as well. I'm more concerned for the system I own.

well if you think entwinded, and TLoU, and mlb, and hokokum, and infamous first light, and pixel junk shooter is just enough first party content to be putting out this summer than maybe you'll find something you like in the swapper, or metro redux, or road not taken, or minecraft, or plants vs zombies GW, or madden, or diablo, or oddworld, or the witness, or ufc, or rogue legacy, or mousecraft, or guacamelee, or valient hearts.   and if it's still a no,.. then honestly just go cry about it quietly.   don't buy a console in the first 12 months if you expect stellar support.  by first year's standards sony has done an amazing job getting content onto their system.  like massively amazing.

Infamous came out in spring, not summer. MLB is oriented towards the niche baseball fandom, and was also a spring game. Entwined is a relatively small game, little more than a blip.

And you know what? A lot of the games you keep mentioning were already available on different consoles. I didn't buy a PS4 for ports. I'm trying to give some constructive criticism, let's not pretend that Sony has blown this gen out of the park in terms of software, because they haven't.

I'm still satisfied with my PS4 though, since I love Destiny and am looking forward to playing the beta. Commenting on the lack of summer support doesn't mean I hate the console.

Ok, thinking the library is sparse is one thing, but being concerned about the console you own, which happens to be dominating this new generation of consoles?  Really?  What possible reason, could you have for concern?  An exclusive isn't releasing in your timeframe?  Maybe I'm just being optimistic, but I know Sony has a hell of allot more studios than just the ones who've actually announced the names of the IP they're working on.  Sure, it might not be out this year, but...do we seriously think they're just sitting around twiddling their thumbs?

And it's a bummer you don't like the game, but...not every game is made specifically to please you.  No offense, but there are currently 39 titles listed as having sold 10K+ on the PS4, if you can't find something to satisfy you for the dry months, you should probably rethink buying consoles w/in their first year of launch.

I'm talking about a season, not the entire year. I found fall, winter, and spring to be perfectly acceptable in content, just not this summer.

And yeah, I'm gonna speak out if I'm not seeing the type of games I play on my console. Why not? Isn't that how companies gauge the market?

And just because a console is dominating doesn't mean that it has the best software. Even as a PS4 owner, I can say that up to this point Nintendo has easily outpaced Sony in terms of first-party games, even if you only take into account the first year of both consoles. If you believe that the PS4 is perfect in terms of library, power to you. You have no right to judge what kind of games I like. Not the entire fanbase is appeased by a year-old remaster.

There's always a drought during the summer. Just glad I'm getting one at all honestly.

I disagree. I honestly believe people would bitch no matter what.

That's great, still don't care.  Don't buy it in the first 12 months if you can't handle the dry spells.  You can say whatever you like...and yet, I still don't care. :)  More people appear to be appeased than not, so...that's all I really care about.

I think you should learn to wait for games to come. AAA games aren't made in a month or even a year or two, so you can't just expect them to come out regularly.

Besides, unlike Nintendo consoles, PlayStation consoles are about both first-party and third-party games, not just first-party games, and you should look at it that way. That is the kind of ecosystem of a PS console.

But if ALL what you want is Sony first-party games, you will have to wait only till October, when they will slowly start streamrolling in. Just look at it:

1) DriveClub (October)

2) LBP 3 (November)

3) The Order: 1886 (February)

Of course that's only the ones announced. We have yet to see all that they have in store for us.

Seriously why are people still whining about this remaster. If you don't like it then don't buy it. I've never seen a game coming out get talked about by so many people that claim they aren't buying it. I didn't play it on ps3 and I'll gladly buy it. Whine if you want. The game is still coming out and will sell at least 2 million I believe

Just seems very vanilla of a port and only exists to pay the summer bills. It is just using the name to cash-in while still recent in our minds. More work could have went into it and yes, I like remasters myself, if the new content justifies a purchase.
