Forums - Gaming - Remasters aren't bad, but having the one major summer first-party game be one is.

Alright, it's fine that you don't care, but in that case mind your own business instead of telling me when I should buy my consoles. I've never had this bad of a summer with a new console, and I've bought plenty of consoles release-day.

No, try not posting in a public forum if you don't want to be critiqued :)

well if you think entwinded, and TLoU, and mlb, and hokokum, and infamous first light, and pixel junk shooter is just enough first party content to be putting out this summer than maybe you'll find something you like in the swapper, or metro redux, or road not taken, or minecraft, or plants vs zombies GW, or madden, or diablo, or oddworld, or the witness, or ufc, or rogue legacy, or mousecraft, or guacamelee, or valient hearts.   and if it's still a no,.. then honestly just go cry about it quietly.   don't buy a console in the first 12 months if you expect stellar support.  by first year's standards sony has done an amazing job getting content onto their system.  like massively amazing.

Infamous came out in spring, not summer. MLB is oriented towards the niche baseball fandom, and was also a spring game. Entwined is a relatively small game, little more than a blip.

And you know what? A lot of the games you keep mentioning were already available on different consoles. I didn't buy a PS4 for ports. I'm trying to give some constructive criticism, let's not pretend that Sony has blown this gen out of the park in terms of software, because they haven't.

I'm still satisfied with my PS4 though, since I love Destiny and am looking forward to playing the beta. Commenting on the lack of summer support doesn't mean I hate the console.

infamous first ligtht.

but honestly i'm done with you after reading this.

"And gens don't have to start off slow. The Wii U had Pikmin 3 in its first summer,.."

complaining about the ps4's first year line up and then referencing the wiiU as an example of how gens don't have to start off slow.  yeah great, pikmin in august and nothing in january through august.   yeah, i've got more cents in my couch...

I'm referring to sumer here, not the entire first year? What part of that did you not read?

I've already said that I was happy with the PS4's library until this summer. It seems like you keep convinently forgeting that.

Well, I expect insightful opinions, not people just telling me to buy my console later on. You can't blame a consumer for acknowledging the lack of games during a season :)

I gave you an insightful opinion.  You're clearly not happy with the first year offerings on a console, that much is readily apparent and the option is, don't buy it in the first year.  If you don't like the inisightful opinion, that's not my problem, it's quite clearly yours.

I agree. But having one release, even if its just a remaster, is better than nothing.

But I've already said that I was fine with the offerings in fall, winter, and spring, so it has nothing to do with the first year, or did you not read that? If you are going to give insightful comments, at least read mine first.

looks over at the xbox camp.

TLoU vs. nothing.

...like really nothing.  not even a big third party game unless you count madden.  i mean, not everyone loves every indie game but 7 games over the 3 summer months is pathetic.

so why are you still complaining again?

Because I'm not comparing the consolea here. Just because Microsoft has nothimg ready doesn't mean Sony shouldn't as well. I'm more concerned for the system I own.

Yeah, but it shows you could have just nothing instead of just TLOU. TLOU or any remake is not the problem. Having not any big release for 3 months is.

Blame the costs, the economy, the studios, EA, players, the long support for PS3, but don't blame TLOU remake, because the probability ND could have shipped a brand new IP for PS4 this summer is very low, and the probability TLOU remake made big releases stop for 3 months is about 0.

Were people really expecting something more? A home console's 1st full year is almost always barren of platform exclusive content. Some are less shit than others, but they're always shit none the less. We saw it with the PS3/360/Wii, we're seeing it again with the PS4/X1/WiiU.

It's a pretty common theme lol. The Summer is always particularly dreadful. If we didn't have TLOU we'd have nothing :p

I'm not happy about a game I've already played being remastered, but it is better than nothing, I agree. I don't think that a Naughty Dog game was necessary, but it's something. Once again, not my kind of game, but for the people who really like it, it's good for you guys.

In no way do I oppose the remaster. I just wish there were other options as well.
