Forums - Gaming Discussion - PS Vita no longer available at major retailers!

More likely this has to do with repackaging the device for what it will be the next few years. the PS Vita is now a PlayStation Now and PS4 streaming device. This likely will be what the box states as it's main purpose in addition to playing Vita games. With PlayStation Now hitting open beta THIS month it makes a lot of sense. All the old inventory has been cleared out and now they can focus on the above mentioned.

Man alive the comments in here are hilarious.

Really shows there's a lot of anti Vita vitrol spued everywhere outside the Vita cult thread.

Slim unit sells better than SCEA anticipated leading to retailers running out. End of Thread tbh.

Sony already talked officially about this. It's sold out and they are replenishing stocks.

VGC numbers are wrong. VGC isn't tracking the BL2 bundle, so we can actually say that it isn't tracking the Vita at all in the US.

I think the OP should be updated with sonys official response regarding shortages. Glad to hear Vita are in higher demand.

If the new model doesn't allow regular SD cards, its not going to change a thing. Sony, you know that 1/3 of software sales are digital, why restricting those sales with your expensive cards?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Or at the very least they need to drop the price of their own cards.  Also, it sounds like the number is closer to 2/3.

"In the US, Vita owners on average have purchased more than 10 games"

"60% of all Vita title purchases are made through the playstation store"

And also by buying everything digital on the PSN Store. You can save between 5$ and 15$ for every game at launch day ! There are absolute NO exception.

Go and talk with the mods if you feel we should get a permaban. MikeRox can't fulfill your wishes sadly.

I saw that article too. Kinda sounds like BS since sales are more a trickle than a torrent. 3K units a week nationwide doesn't make a shortage.

Gotta make room for the millions of PSTVs they're going to sell later this year ;)
