I don't think gaming will ever really die, but it's definitely changed. Even with the changes though, I haven't changed how I game. I play what games I want, what looks good to me and I'm not concerned about graphics.

This is why I like the success of Minecraft so much. That game is not about graphics, but creativity. I don't think gaming I dying, I do think us console gamers are a shrinking crowd though, and that we often put graphics over content. At the moment, I am swearing over the 8bitesque 1001 spikes :).
Oh gee, like we've never heard this one before. Gaming may change and go through phases, but it will never fully die out.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Yeah I think pretty soon no one will watch movies too.
indie games nowadays have been the most creative in years, plus AAA games now give us more entertainment for our dollars compared to past ones and I find it pretty funny that you think Xbox one has uninspired games yet nintendo are the biggest recycling and rehash developers of all time!

Are you talking about console gaming specifically now or also smartphone and PC gaming?
If one thing, smartphone gaming is on the rise, if anything. And PC gaming is still growing in China and South Korea, and is already huge here.
For smartphone/PC gaming I can not see it dying off anytime ever. With this I mean that nothing at all indicates this, at least not where I live at(China).
Console gaming might die yes, as in being replaced by Android-style consoles such as Ouya. I think we will see a lot of those in the future. There will be at least two serious consoles like this releasing in China this year. If they are successful other Chinese companies will want to follow, for sure.
And I can see a console like this taking over the console market in the west also. When I don't know but I do think this is the future indeed.
i don't know what you are talking about, loads of games to play on my PC from the steam sale.lovely point & click adventures to while away my time, space sims & RPG's to lose hours in,
do you mean that nintendo has gone from winning gen 7 with the Wii to losing gen 8 with the WiiU,this is true but gaming will never die, only when humans cease to exist,it is pretty simple

I smell like the dark forest of Dwemereth in the morning mist
fanboy til i'm bankrupt
If film, music, literature and sports are also going to die, then yes.
Otherwise no, this is just being blown out of proportion.
I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.
Doubt it. Even in the far future (hundreds of years from now) I think gaming will still be prelevent.
Edit: This should go without saying but obviiously hundreds of years from now gaming won't be at all the same as it is today.
Gaming is doing just fine. You're probably just done with gaming. I think part of the problem you speak of is yourself. You seem to have concerned yourself too much with whatever the vocal minority or mainstream are talking about.
Sure certain games are popular, but I don't see a problem with that. There is still a huge variety of games to play and I'm just going to ENJOY myself. I'll just have FUN. You know, ENJOYMENT and FUN? The two factors games are meant to provide. If for some people 1080p 60FPS is fun, then great for them. I'll enjoy what is fun for me and let others enjoy what they like.
If you're no longer having FUN playing games, its about time to quit this hobby.
