Forums - Gaming - >>PREDICTION<< Gaming will die, not soon, but eventually.

Soon or later the earth will die :(

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

You know what is also a prediction? Eventually, the Earth will be destroyed eventually.

EDIT: Wow...so stealthy Chapset.

I'm sorry but unless gaming dies relatively soon, those are not signs of gaming dying. If they were, gaming would die soon.

I can attest to the 12 year old sentiment since my little bro is 11 and has played pretty much all M rated games, and seems to get bored with all of them. He apparently also thinks Nintendo games are harder than any of them, so derp.

Nah, it will be manifest itself in new forms through unforseeable new technology etc.

Agreed with everything said.

Gaming as you want it to be might be dying. But video gaming will go on as long as there are computers (or computer-like devices).

You're a Nintendo guy, and you hate to see Wii U being so badly overlooked by the market right now. And the contraction of the console market in general is a sad sight. But just because Nintendo's future and the future of consoles is uncertain doesn't mean video games as a whole are dying.

Look at OMG graphics!! and 1080p and 60fps as akin to the special effects revolution in the movie industry. There were people lamenting that great movies would be a thing of the past, because studios were going to be all abou the visual spectacle. And sad to say it has somewhat come true, with the all time highest grossing movies being dominated by visual feasts not by tight narrative, amazing directing and brilliant acting. Avatar being the greatest example of an otherwise crap movie being unbelievably successful purely on its visuals. However the art of great movie making has not died, and indeed special effects has been used to fantastic effect in post 1990 movies that will stand the test of time as some of the greatest movies ever made.

Ironic that you think rehashing tired non-Nintendo franchises is the problem when we've just seen the 8th iteration of MK release and sell pretty much more in one month than all the truly original IPs released exclusively on Wii U to date combined. Clean up your own back yard before you start telling everyone else their house is a mess.

Gaming will die, and then Half Life 3 will come out five years later.

Gaming won't die out for a long time but i think the traditional generation cycle will end soon. Stuff like PS Now show the future i think
