Forums - Gaming - >>PREDICTION<< Gaming will die, not soon, but eventually.

I look at the charts, I see peoples opinions, I look at all the new games and technology getting poared into stores, and all I can say is "It's over."

Apparently, now a game is only good if it has "REALISTIC" graphics and is "top-notch" and if it is made for kids it is "OBVIOUSLY" bad.

I see this crap all the time. The only games people care about are the ones where it is the same thing, basically being recycled into just another bland, thoughtless game without any motivation. While great games that should be getting attention are falling back in sales *cough cough* wii u *cough cough* and machines driven just to play repetitive uninspired games *cough cough* Xbox One *cough cough*

Okay, enough sarcasm, and more seriouseness. Gaming is just making me sad now. It is WAY unmotivated, and I just see more people ignoring the games with untapped potential. And nowadays, it is ALL about the graphics. Game isn't 1080p? Well then it is considered bad. Game doesn't run at 60fps? Yup, it is a bad game. It's like "Are you freaking kidding me?! Graphics don't make a game good."

Then there are kids, you know, 12 year old kids who HAVE to play an "M" game just so they can look, or atleast think they're "cool."

And here is the part that makes me the angriest. AWFUL games like Goat Simulator, Flappy Bird, Angry Birds, Candy Crush, (In my opinion Minecraft) and a bunch of other lazy made games that are simply played just cause somebody on the internet plays it or a bunch of other people play it. It's sad

Sad but true, let's hope we still have card games when that happens.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Hmm, k so when will gaming die then? Like in 5 years or 5 decades?

I can't see gaming dying for a long time, heck not even in my life time.

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

I can't say for sure. But, I think that even if gaming dies, It won't be the sales dying, it will be what gaming used to be dead, you know, the great memories of playing amazing games with friends and at home, It's sad to see crappy games go far, it really is.

I don't think gaming is going anywhere anytime soon...

Even if you mean "quality" I don't think so. I can't argue your point because it's your opinion but I think gaming can still be fresh and new. The indie games are mixing things up that much more too.

One more thing. Who cares what other people are playing? If you still have fun playing games that sell 10K. So be it. If a game you find boring brings nothing new sells 10 Million, oh well. Is it really hurting you?

I don't think gaming will die, ever. If gaming dies, it's because the planet Earth is dying and everything in it is dying as well. How did I come to this realization? Comic books. How long is Batman, Superman, Spiderman, the Fantastic Four, etc, going to continue to rehash their stories? I can't tell you, but I can say it's been several decades since Comic Book soothsayers predicted their demise, yet here we are with the new 52, Original Sin and the reboots to come.

I can't imagine a future where games are no longer fun and anyone is not will to fork over money to have it be around. Look, I understand we're somewhat becoming shallow in our gaming, but it's not over, it's not going to end. We may be entering a period where things seem low, or perhaps the golden age of gaming is coming to a close, but what of the silver age? Technology is evolving faster than 2 decades ago, it's getting interesting to see what is coming out next. Big companies are looking into virtual reality and it's not a joke anymore. If this is the start of the holodeck. Gaming is leading the world into the future.

If ever gaming dies, it would be because the cost of development is too high and the sales are low

Everything dies eventually, but I don't see why it would anytime soon. Gaming has been around for over 30 years now, it's proven that it's not just a fad. Just like movies, tv, and music hasn't died, gaming isn't about to either. Gaming isn't going to go away until a new technology takes over that's better than it, and I can't think of what that would be.
