Yes, they are. They are mediocre games hidden under some of the best presentation and story telling in the industry. And they copy themselves, a lot. And they are extremely derivative o... See? I didn't want to do this.

That's like pretty much saying the whole 3rd person shooter genre is mediocre because you probably couldn't name one that's better than Uncharted without it being JUST LIKE uncharted like Tomb Raider.

Tomb Raider is mediocre and just like Uncharted. Spec Ops: The Line is better. Saint's Row 3+4 are better. Vanquish is better. Resident Evil 4 is better. GTA 4 is better. Red Dead Redemption is better.

I'd be lying. That's a weak way to convey opinion. The Batman games don't appeal to me. The Uncharted series is mediocre and over rated. The Last of Us is even more over rated. Sonic Advance 1+2 are bad games.

That's like saying Mario Galaxy is mediocre knowing DAMN WELL it isn't.

It isn't. It's a pinnacle of game design. Uncharted is a pinnacle of motion capture and a budget. And okay game design.

I dont like Animal Crossing or Halo but i do realizsrealize that their is some quality to these games.

I do like Uncharted though. Just because I think something is mediocre doesn't mean I hate it. They aren't shit games. They are mediocre games. Unremarkable games. I'm done with the series, because people don't continue to buy mediocre and unremarkable things. I'm not going to say "in my opinion" just to save someone elses fragile feelings, because they can't handle someone criticizing something they like.

Bioshock was amazing. 2 and Infinite were mediocre. I don't see myself getting excited by another one. Or how about this; God of War 1+2+3 are amazing, and that SONY team puts Naughty Dog to shame because their gameplay and level design is as amazing as their overall presentation and outshines all of the Uncharted games. Uncharted 2 was my favorite, though. I'd definitely play a God of War 4. I'd watch an Uncharted movie.

But people like you will just see "he's saying something bad about Sony."

you know what's funny? I have bioshock and dont like it. God Of War 3 is far from amazing.  I played GOW3 right after Uncharted 2 and felt that Uncharted put it to shame lmao... Imo.. Oh my bad

 

Also, you dont feel the need to let it be known that it's your opinion when needed? If it's not your opinion then whose is it? You're cousins? a random person on the street? reviewers? The majority of people who bought it?

I guess I wasn't really clear. I'm not really interested in most of Sony's 1st party games, and I know the ones that I'll like already. I didn't want this to turn into a thread where all I do is defend why I think Naughty Dog's games are mediocre but presented well, or why I think The Order: 1886 looks like garbage, or any number of things that have absolutely nothing to do with why I want a PS4.

I don't want this thread to turn into a "Sony fans shit on you for not enjoying some games that happen to be made by first party studios." It's the same reason why I never bring up F-Zero on the Nintendo forums.

Understandable. I'm interested in Uncharted 4 but I don't hold the series in very high regard like alot of SONY fans do. I can say for sure I'm not paying $60 for it. I can also agree that what's been shown of The Order so far gives a lot of reason to worry about what the game actually offers.

Exactly. And like I said before, there are first party games on the PS4 that I'm interested, but they are few, I know what they are already, and I won't care to hear someone tell me something I already know. "Yes Rime looks awesome and yes I want to play it. Can we move on to things I don't know?" I'm not entirely against people bringing up 1st party games, as I didn't know about the Ratchet & Clank game until this forum, but for the most part I want to leave that stuff alone because 3rd party is good enough for me. The first party sprincles is a bonus to me, like indies. (Obviously not like indies from a quality perspective)

Why are you so afraid of his opinion? Even if he does end up doing that, which he's told you multiple times he won't, why would you even care? I doubt his opinion will tarnish the PS4 anymore than anyone else's opinion on it has.

OT: I'm in nearly the same boat as you except for the fact that I really only need KHIII and FFXV, and those aren't coming for awhile.

J&D is almost certainly dead as both Naughty Dog and Ready At Dawn Studio are busy making other games.

You should not get a PS4 this year as you'll clearly not like it without any of the above games. Though LBP 3 might be more up your alley.

Btw God Of War IV is my most anticipated PS4 exclusive as well :)

God Of War is far superior than Uncharted is what I think as well even as a Sony fan. Just like him you are stating your opinion as facts.

For me though God Of War has a vastly better story, gameplay, combat (vastly different but still better), enemy design and level design than Uncharted. Only thing I like about Uncharted more than God Of War are the overall cast and characterisation.
