Nope, insomniac are working on a full new game :D. Members of the original R&C1 team will be working on the project too!

It's expected to release in the first half of 2015.

If that's true, you just gave me my second must have game on the PS4, I'm not even joking. Have they released any gameplay, or if it just confirmed for now?

It's only been confirmed so far, but they mentioned we would get our first look at it "this fall", whatever that means :p

PS+ is not required to play free to play games. This also includes free to play online games, and MMOs with a subscription. This also includes apps like netflix, crunchyroll, etc.

If the white $450 ps4 came without Destiny, i would still get it. So i see Destiny as being free Lol

Also, if you dont care about the PS exclusives, why not just get a ps3? Pretty much all the multiplats will be on it

Because next gen multiplats won't be on it, and I already have a PS3 in my house. It's my sister's.

So maybe you should get an X1. You dont like PS exclusives so maybe you'll like the exclusives Microsoft has to offer. They also will be getting the same multiplats as PS4.

X1 also just dropped it's price to $399 so it's basically the same price as the PS4.

Get an X1( and this is coming from a PS guy).

^^^
but the real question remains. Does he want to play multiplats in higher resolution and frame rates? or not?

1. I doubt it. It is most likely going to be limited.

2. I believe No Man's Sky is not considered a free to play game. Currently only free to play games can be played online without PS+. So I don't think you will be able to play it online.

3. MGS5: Phantom Pain,

I thought it was free to play and MMO's, which is why I was confused. It isn't really a traditional MMO, but it's single player campaign is largely dependant on online, so it's hard to peg it as strictly single player. Same with Destiny. I may be getting it confused with XBL though, as I think Titanfall doesn't require a subscription. But I thought that FF14 didn't require PS+ either lol. I'm not sure.

On here it says free to play games only, but now that you mention it I do remember some MMO's are going to be able to be played without PS+. I know Elder Scrolls Online will not require a PS+ membership, however you do have to pay the membership for Elder Scrolls Online.

Not sure if your question has been answered yet. From what I understand so far:

1) No. White controller, yes. As far as the console, there's no yes confirmed. Mostly this is a limited edition bundle.

2) In the case of Destiny, yes... I think. I remember hearing that you don't. In the alpha, you didn't need PS+.The way it worked in the Alpha: You can play the main story without PS+. There's competitive multiplayer that requires PS+. There's also multiplayer co-op missions called "Strikes" that require PS+.

Clueless on No Man's Sky.

3) I can't recommend anything I haven't played myself. I'll tell you that I'm hyped for Witcher 3, MGS5 and FarCry4 at the moment. Everything else I can think of is 1st party.

1.  It's a "limited edition" version, so yes, it's probably only going to be available with the bundle.

2. Yes, "No Man's Sky" is "Coming First" to PS4...but will also eventually make it's way to PC.  No Xbox version has been announced yet, but they aren't limited by Sony in any way, shape or form from releasing on that console as well.

Well I was more asking if it required PS Plus. The answer seems to be a unanimous no though.

3. "AAA" games?  There are plenty coming...Batman, Arkham Knight in February (supposedly), Evolve (the one where one player plays the monster and 4 other players hunt the one guy down...looks fun!), out later this year.  Metal Gear Solid V looks amazing, if you are into that series...also due later this year.  Assassins Creed Unity looks pretty amazing too.  Bottom line...if you are into 3rd party "AAA" titles, the PS4 is the place to play them.  ALL of these games will look and PLAY better on the PS4.

I don't think Evolve can be played withought PS+. I thought MGS V was out next year? I'm not really into the series. I don't hate it. I just never played it, and I generally don't really prefer stealth games. Also, I've heard a lot about the franchises dependance on cutscenes. I'm the kind of guy who thought TLOU was mediocre, so if it's anything like that, I may pass. However, my best friend loves MGS and bought the $30 demo thing, so I may try that to test the waters. I've bean pleasantly surprised before.

3b.  Don't count out the "indies"!  There are some AMAZING experiences to enjoy with the "smaller" titles.  I really enjoy playing "Transistor" right now...and I will be getting "Minecraft" when it releases...I am also looking forward to the re-release (remaster?) of "Another World" tomorrow as well as several others!  Will ALL of these games appeal to you?  Probably not...but I would be VERY surprised if NONE of them did!

I'm not counting out indies. I love them, but indies are nothing more than little bonuses to me. I would never buy a console based on indie support.

3c.  I would HIGHLY recommend PS+.  Not only will it give you the ability to play multiplayer games...but you will also get 2 free games a month!  I subscribed about 8 months ago...and now I have more games that I have time to play!  (I also own a Vita and a PS3...I get free games on all consoles with ONE subscription).

I'm not sold. It's like a rental service, but the selection is limited, and it's tied to online as an insentive to buy it. I don't like that. Not for me.

In short, there is a LOT going on with the platform...but the decision to pony up the cash is yours and yours alone.  I don't think you will be disappointed with your purchase...BUT no one except you will really care if you get one or not.  It's important that YOU see value in your purchase...if you think you will enjoy playing these games in the best possible quality (short of a $1500 gaming PC), then get one...if not, then don't.  In any case, have FUN shopping and checking out the great games coming out!

It's a breath of fresh are that you were able to voice your opinions in a positive and non condesending way! Thanks lol. To me, being able to play all these 3rd party games is enough of a reason to get a PS4 lol. The question is more if than when.

Well, yeah, KIND of like a rental....PS+ games are free for the duration of your membership.  If your membership lapses, then you lose access to the games that were given out as part of PS+....but, if you renew PS+ after letting it lapse, then you regain access to all of the games given out previously.

I actually subscribed to PS+ BEFORE buying a PS4, before it was announced that it was necissary to play multiplayer on PS4.  To ME, it was worth $50/year ($4.16 a month!) to get free games every month on my PS3.  Now that I have a Vita and a PS4, it's even more of a value, as I get games for all three of my consoles!  I got some damn good games too...XCOM, Bioshock Infinite, Payday 2, Batman Arkham City (I think that's the one...I haven't actually downloaded and played this one yet...it's waiting for me!) and many others.

I don't always play my games right away either.  I log on to the PSN via PC when the new free games are released and tag them for later download...this gives me the ability to download the games at any point, EVEN IF THEY ARE REMOVED LATER.  I can always go in and download them when I am ready to play them.

So, yeah, I can understand your concerns with "paying for multiplayer"...but given the money Sony is investing in their servers and infrastructure, I don't mind the "tax"...if the online experience was equal to what was offered a few years ago with PS3, yes, I would be pissed, but given all of the improvements they have been working on, I think it's fair to pay a little for multiplayer...BUT, the real value I find in it is with the "Instant Game Collection"...the free games I get every month are worth FAR more than the Four bucks and change I spend!

As to the rest...you are welcome...too many times conversations like these get negative...but I will say...if you are a gamer, and enjoy playing video games, you should get a PS4.  There are DOUBLE the number of games available on the PS4 than the XB1 as of right now...and that number is going to do nothing but grow.  Chances are you will find a number of titles coming out this year or early next year that will appeal to you.  The best advice I could give you is to WAIT until you see the titles that interest YOU, personally.  When those titles are released, THEN buy the console.  Don't take my word for it, or anyone else's....just buy when YOU feel the time is right!

I like less exclusives on the XBO than on the PS4. I like Sunset Overdrive, and Killer Instinkt. That's pretty much it for now. Also, I like JRPGs... so... yeah... Also, while I don't care for graphics, I do care about performance. If there are more PS4 games running at a higher framerate, that makes me lean more towards the PS4. I definitely haven't ruled the XBO out since I like it's controller better and I REALLY want Killer Instinkt, the PS4 seems like the better choice for my preferences, and there's no guarantee that Sunset Overdrive will remain exclusive, or not just be Dead Rising with grinding.

meh, do it if you want.

on the side note. I find quite hilarous how many time you downplayed ps exclusives.

Didnt see him talk about wanting exclusives  so what do you mean?  Its not like people only buy a console for exclusives.

I haven't even read your post but this is the answer to everything:
