"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

The genesis games were not that fast paced compared to most of their 3D games.

That's not really a fair comparison though. The speed is also pretty spectacular on Genesis if you play right.

What's not fair is when the people worship the genesis games like god, then criticise Lost World and now this game for being slower. That's just hypocritical!

You're talking about the Sonic fanbase here as well, you know? There's so many different opinions on Sonic that it just seems like people contradict their own opinions. It's actually just an illusion because each Sonic fan has its set of opinions but as a whole the fans can't really seem to find what they want together.

That being said, I think Lost World didn't have to be as slow as it is. We're not restricted to 16-bit hardware anymore. Now Sonic Boom gets bashing because it barely tries to be a fast Sonic game.

The Sonic Fanbase can More or less be summarised into the following groups:

Character Obsessed:

Furries

Sonic Recoolers/Jake The Hedgehog

2D Sonic:

S3K and like platformming

Sonic CD

Handhelds

3D Sonic:

2.5 D/platformming Generations/Unleashed (Speed)

3D Platforming Adventure Series/ Shadow the hedgehog

I myself believe the adventure series had the most potential, and just needed to be faster and less glitchy

In this day and age, with the Internet, ignorance is a choice! And they're still choosing Ignorance! - Dr. Filthy Frank

Good god. Not only does it sound bad, it sounds broken.

Is this person saying it's the worst Sonic game because it's so irretrievably bad or because it's so unlike traditional Sonic games, or both? I just watched about five minutes of gameplay footage so I could post a somewhat informed response, and I didn't see the train wreck the author describes. It's got a LEGO-Skylanders things going on, which I don't think is so bad. It definitely doesn't look or play like other Sonic games, but it doesn't look half-bad.

Now that's an achievement

So... Sega Can't Save Sonic, External Developer Can't Save Sonic... Can anyone save Sonic?

Dimps. Tell them to make what is Sonic Advance 2, but in 3D.

No homing attack. No self boost. No single speed spin dash. So enemies that serve as enemies instead of obstacles. No "dynamic camera angles." No "epic" story. No voice acting. No character specific stages. Do characters who play drastically different than Sonic. Just Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Amy, running, jumping, tricks that give you more control in the air rather than adding meaningless points to your score to look cool, breaking the sound barrier as a reward for maintaining speed, roller coaster-like level design, subtile Sonic attitude told through looks and body language rather than Sonic telling you he's edgy, and momentum based acceleration. And no 2D sections. At all.

Improve on Sonic Lost World's cylidrical level design and improve Sonic's "parkour" by making it so that you can run up walls indefinitely if you've gained enough speed.

That's how to save Sonic. Make him go fast with a camera that doesn't suck, and let us feel completely in control of that speed. Also, any sound track that is less than these:

is unacceptable.

worse ever? that is a bold statment indeed. I wonder how the 3ds version plays? they need to stick to that Colors/Generations formula because that seems to be the only formula that truly works besides the classic 2d Sonic

did you read what he wrote? most of the issues came from it seeming to control like clunky crap. You could watch all the videos you want but you can never get how a game is going to control by just watching it

Well, people always liked Sonic demos at E3 then are disappointed by the final product. Maybe the reverse will be true. :P
