So you're saying that our standards are lower and we are less critical, if the game is released on a low selling system compared to a high selling one? Interesting theory. I disagree though.

When there are fewer games to play in a console, opinions about those games get skewed by the "starving syndrome". The "starving syndrome" dictates that for every game that the console lacks in proportion to the others, the games get better at least triple the amount! I learned it in my maths lesson and you know I got an A in that, so yeah... you pretty much said what every mathematician has been saying for the last 100 years.

I guess people feel more of a need to justify their purchase when what they bought selling like crap. It's an unconscious selfish act, a lie to oneself more so than to others, in order to feel better.

Or we just sympathise with the underdogs. Go Costa Rica!

While Super Mario Galaxy 1/2 were great games, I still enjoyed 3D World far more. So putting Super Mario Sunshine aside I'd say that Nintendo most definitely make superior games when hardware sales are low.

And for the record, Monkey Bike Wii is a piece of trash.

So Galaxy 1 & 2, Zelda TP and SS, DKC Returns and Prime 3 are amongst the worst games ever released by Nintendo?

But then again this is all balanced out by the likes of Wii Fit (get it?!?), Wii Play, Wii Music, Mario Party 8+9, NSMBWii, Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, and pretty much anything else with "Wii" in the title, so OP may have a point yet.

And just for the record, Mario Kart Wii >>> Mario Kart 8. Legit battle mode wins out every time.
