Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Teases Minecraft for Wii U

Hope so. That way I can get rid of WinPC easier. Damn kids love that game. If a WiiU version existed I would have better ground to stand on.

Depends on the kids...mine are obsessed with mods, so I have to add (since they are 6 and 8) at least one weekly for them to try it out, otherwise there would be lot of whining - I think I'm up to 40 right now on their 1.6.4.

I don't think any console version would satisfy them, so my advice...keep them away from mods if you can (my little devils figured out how to find them on YouTube, so there's no escape for me).

They do bug me about mods. The couple I've tried to assist them with, I believe were virus ridden. Where the hell do you find quality mods from for that game? So far I've told them I won't do it anymore. I may just keep it that way. Meaning the console versions would suffice.

They've also started playing a game I think is completely stupid. Called ... gamemod or something like that. I got it for $10 via steam. They love it and it has a better system for adding extra's.

There are many places, but I usually get them from http://www.minecraftforum.net/

since I just google whatever is my kids have found, and the link to mod from that site is usually in first 2.

Or you can try some modpacks, this is a good place to find some http://www.technicpack.net/

Minecraft for Xbox 360 has been on the VGC top ten for ages now. It's the 5th highest selling game on the platform, and not that far behind Halo 3. The PC version will inevitably become the highest selling PC game ever (debatable if games that come with PCs count) within the next few years since sales aren't really slowing down.

I'm around kids a lot, and Minecraft is every bit as big, if not bigger, to them than Pokémon was to kids in the 90s/00s. Minecraft should have been on Wii U at launch; Nintendo dropped the ball big time on that, as did Sony with not getting it on Vita sooner.

This game is the equivalent of Titanic in the box office realm. It didn't have a huge launch, but no other game in recent memory holds a candle to its longevity on the sales charts.

I think it's the best selling PC game already.. I can't be certain though.

Interesting. To really push hardware and sales, though, you would need compatible 3DS and Wii U saves.

That would gimp the Wii U version. A 3DS version would have the limitations of the Minecraft Pocket Edition.

It's OK, Nintendo! Being late to the Minecraft party is not such a bad thing!

Yes please! I think even the Ouya has this game!

Can't believe people still care about this game

For sure, man. What is happening to gamers???

People are too easily amused and have short attention spans nowadays...

Wow... its a dire situation when even the Vita gets a full console version, yet the developer wont support your system :|.

But I don't know why they would bother anyways. Mario Maker seems to be more user friendly and mass market appealing then LBP and MC put together
