It probably won't do much for sales but it may please some people that game mainly on Nintendo.  Plus some people seem to want stylus control over just touch.

It's #5 on NPD this month. The game was released in 2011.

Miyamoto is incompetent for being a director of a video game company and, three years after its release, not being familiar with the most successful budget:profit ratio of a game of all time, as well as selling 50 million copies.

The OP implies there may be one in the pipe, and the gimmick of sharing a save with the console version would help garner attention.
