The thing is, there's games out there that are barely playable yet they're never brought up in these discussions. If I make a game right now that barely plays right nobody will call it the worst game every created because there's nothing behind it. E.T. Isn't the worst game ever created in terms of how it plays but because of the story behind the game there's quite a lot of people who still consider it to be the worst game ever. 

I always consider what the game tries to be if I think about how bad it is. Sonic 06 tried to be the new, cool, stunning, next-gen Sonic and failed. It's pretty much the cause for the recent trend of changing how Sonic plays all the time. Sonic Spinball? Meh. It didn't try much anyway.

although I haven't played the game I've heard that it was actually a fairly decent game for that time at least, but I think people hate it so much because it almost killed gaming.
