Forums - Nintendo - Miyamoto: VR is one person putting on some goggles, playing by themselves in a corner

I rest my case.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

See this is how close minded this guy is, but still people will worship him no matter what and thats very sad, I totally lost respect for this guys years ago.

Hm, he does realize that most people have been playing games solo, or via online multiplayer for quite some time now?

Of course, there's nothing wrong with Nintendo approach, quite the opposite, that's why I think they will probably be among the first to jump to volumetric displays (think HoloChess from SW) once tech is good and cheap enough.

But, reality is that, if we don't blow ourselves in next 10-20 years, something like HoloBand from Caprica, which is full sensory VR, is most likely to happen, and people will just love it, being ultimate escapism dream.

I have tried VR and thought this was appropriate

Damn it how do you embed?

Has to be old embed code, general.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Lol at the people in this thread who lost respect for him because he has an opinion...

Something tells me they never respected him much in the first place. He's right, VR is bs for now. Maybe in 5 years from now...

Miyamoto has a point. Unless everybody can see what the player sees, VR will be restricted to single player games with online multiplayer at most, which is the oposite of what Nintendo is trying to do right now.

Now, once technology allows consoles/PCs to drive more than one pair of glasses at the same time, then things will be different.

i find it strange coming from a company that has a system thats main selling point can only be used by one person at a time...odd

Yeah but you dont need to be in a corner like you do with vr obviously.

pff corner, my ass will be laying on a beach plaing GT on my morpheus if my girl ever manages to drag me to some boring tropical vacation.

lol, that's just sad, you'd rather play a video game than hangout with your girlfriend while she's in a bikini... I'm going to give that relationship no more than 6 months.

lol you are just sad, one day you will know.

Why would i care about that.  When i have her in my bed naked every night ?

Its ironic that they tried VR first. But its also ironic that he is saying the truth. VR is dead before its arrival.

Wise words i think.
Though VR has its uses in very niche areas of gaming its no where near being an actual viable interaction method.

You lost respect because you don't agree with his opinion? You probably never respected Shiggy to begin with!
