We got COD Kids though who wouldn't ever want to touch a Nintendo game! |
Those kids are simply precociously mature !

Killing is not what makes a game mature. Themes that are not meant for children or teenagers are what makes games mature. Last of Us, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Witcher, COD and other games are mature titles in story. They are made for the typical adult audience, but children still love to find their way around the system and buy them.
you must live in the States... I live in Canada, and the weird people are the popular ones. I remember in High School the moment someone brought up Katamari Damacy everyone in the class was all over it talking about how awesome it was, same thing in college, people loved Viva Pinata and Mario Kart, and Smash. It's the adults that play fun games to have fun, its the children who play the violent games to look like adults...

But in all those games, there's killing. Try choosing a mature game that doesn't involve killing by any means!

Children shouldn't be seeing that type of violence, so I don't quite get what you mean. Thats not for the eyes of children, but again they will always want to see what they shouldn't. We live in an age where kids are technologically ahead and can talk their way past their parents to get these games. Its less about mario and more about COD and the shooters these days. If kids had that clout in the 90's Duke Nukem would've sold massive numbers.

What's the correlation between what I asked and what you replied to me?
If anything, you're further proving his point. It is about the violence, cutscenes and the killing, and less about being mature games.
15 more years until I'm weird I guess
XBOX ONE/Wii U/3DS/PC

What one percieves to be mature gameplay-wise is purely opinion unless its content not for the eyes of those who deemed immature. Nintendo games dont feature mature content, they are just games with light hearted themes and fantasy violence at best because they are designed to entice children and families. Its as simple as that. Mature games are just games with content not suitable for children no different than rated R movies to TV-MA productions.

Nintendo games are what would be closely related to a G to PG13 rating because of the general audience they are designing their gaming for.
| Most parents would find this program suitable for all ages. Although this rating does not signify a program designed specifically for children, most parents may let younger children watch this program unattended. It contains little or no violence, no strong language and little or no sexual dialogue or situations. | |
These are TV ratings and Nintnendo would be rated from G to PG13 if they were considered like like normal televised public viewing.
