Killing is not what makes a game mature. Themes that are not meant for children or teenagers are what makes games mature. Last of Us, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Witcher, COD and other games [...]


But in all those games, there's killing. Try choosing a mature game that doesn't involve killing by any means!


Children shouldn't be seeing that type of violence, so I don't quite get what you mean. Thats not for the eyes of children, but again they will always want to see what they shouldn't. We live in an age where kids are technologically ahead and can talk their way past their parents to get these games. Its less about mario and more about COD and the shooters these days. If kids had that clout in the 90's Duke Nukem would've sold massive numbers.
