Long sideburns. Link from the "Hero is successful" timeline.

They are not even close to that long in the game. Every Link has "long" sideburns, but none are as long as the ones in the defeated timeline.

None of them are as long as the drawings either, in any of the games.

Now, I think it's great to speculate about this topic. But as far as I'm concerned, while interesting, I think you're reaching quite a bit here.

Yes they are. The first TP art you posted was early art. It's much shorter in the subsequent art and they absolutely do reflect the games. I don't think I am reaching at all.

You don't think  you're reaching?

So what you're saying isn't a theory?

It absolutely is a theory, but it's based on clear fact. There is no stretch to the theory.

Now, that's interesting. I actually hope so, because as you mentioned it will give Aonuma the freedom to do whatever he wants.

But also, part of the world actually fits with Ocarina of time worldmap:

Hyrule Castle/Town at the north
Death Mountain at the northeast
Forest at the east
Lake at the south (believing the mist is coming from a waterfall/lake)
At west there's a canyon like entrance, just like Gerudo Valley in Ocarina.

wrong. in this trailer/picture its morning and not dawn everything we see is south and not north. it doesnt fit in any zelda game.

@spemanig

pls tell me when was the first time in zelda games that enemies used lasers ?

It fits Zelda 2. Lasers have been present since Zelda 1.

"Every timeline tries to revive Ganon or features Ganon revived. (Or features Ganon created)"

But literally every single game in the downfall timeline, bar Adventure of Link, is related to a plot involving Ganon. An amazing feat when there's 7(!) games in that timeline.

Actually, Adventure of Link involves Ganon a lot, remember the game over screen? If you die, Ganon's minions spill Link's blood over the ashes of Ganon and revives him. The whole game is about preventing Ganon's resurrection.

Well shit. There you go. Every defeated timeline game has a hard-on for Ganon so I still think post-Spirit Tracks (with one game at least, between them) is the best starting point.

For gameplay purposes I'd love for it to be in the defeated timeline. Zelda II probably has the largest world if we were to scale them, and it would make perfect sense for an open-world game to feature that Hyrule. Plus I love the idea of traveling across the sea (Windwaker-style) to get to another huge landmass.

Crap....I love that idea as well, but I dont want it in the defeated timeline.  Dilema. ;___;

Alright. I felt a need to point this out. May it be that the new Link has long sideburns like that of the Defeated Hero Timeline Links, that's all he has in common with them. His clothes are completely designed differently in the trailer. (They all sport a green tunic with brown sleeves and white leg-long stockings or bare legs and brown sleeves.) As well as that his hair isn't completely in line with theirs. All of the Defeated Hero Timeline Links sport very long sideburns and sweeping bangs. Whether it be slightly to the side and upward as in Zelda I, or downward and to the side in all of the others. They still sweep. This new Link lacks a sweep, but more of a modern Link bang style that's more in line with TP, TWW, and SS. His bangs are partially parted, just a little bit. And from there, ruffle up to form "layers" I suppose. Idk, not so good with hair terminology. But it's just different from the sweeps featured in the Downfall timeline. He also features a ponytail, which we have yet to see in the other Downfall Links, unless there's capless artwork of them that I'm unfamiliar with. It is possible in his convention breaking goal, he's trying to change the look of Link. His whole vagabond-esque look (the lack of his familiar tunic and the headrobe he wears to hide his face) makes me think he's being hunted in the games (think Zelda at the end of Twilight Princess. She kept herself cloaked, almost like she carried shame and didn't want to be seen. A personal form of exile..). Perhaps a wanted criminal of the Hyrule Kingdom? Would explain why he's being attacked in the middle of the country, as well as why that horse clearly isn't Epona. It's a brown horse with black hair. Epona has always been a brown-red color with white hair.

You should really use a mirror map for the Twilight Princess Zelda Hyrule.

They mirrored everything on the Wii verson of the game. Geruda dessert should be in the west and death mountain the east.
