Forums - Nintendo - Does 3DS sales in the West literally make anyone else sick?

I'm happy. I don't care about sales, I'm not a stock investor. I have all the games I want and I could care less how many other people do. So as long as Smash and Monster Hunter 4 hit the shelves I will get my copy and again care less about how many systems actually sale. I never understand why gamers do? Is it some type of bragging rights? Idk.

Well what can you expect, when one of the biggest things we have receive till now is freaking Kirby. Unless Tomodachi Life pulls a miracle, and it brings some casuals in with its similar appearance to things like Tom the Cat, the 3DS will continue falling to similar levels, of its death weeks, till something big releases, and unless I'm misremembering the soonest big release, is Smash in October, so yeah not a good picture for the 3DS this year.

COMG guide to points: 1 point = Raging. 2 points = Beasting. 3 points = Tearing it up. 4 points = Berzerk. 7 points = Rampage. 12 points = Burst. 15 points = god mode. 20+ points = DIVIDING BY ZERO!!! 40+ points = Youkai (originally Pokemon).

-1 = Negabeasting. -5= NegaRampage. -10 = NegaBurst

THE healthier the sales of a console (and software), the more that is invested in it *by first and 3rd party devs and the longer the lifespan-

Additionally, this is a sales focussed web site- most of us are here in part or primarilly to follow sales in the industry and or for specific consoles, games etc

why are u comparing it too Wii U and PS4 this week? Both of them got huge boosts from big software releases, but yes ur right 3DS sales have been far from impressive so far this year.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

it's going to be rebound in japan soon, thanks to youkai watch 2, monster hunter 4g, super smash bros for 3ds and then pokemon.

In the west, it's a completely different story, with the first hugely hyped game to be super smash bros for 3ds in October. They do have some decent titles in between like pokemon art academy (june for europe), theatrythm curtain call, professor Layton vs phoenix wright, sonic boom and fantasy life, - most of which aren't exactly system sellers, but a consistent release schedule at least. Yeah, it is a little worrying. You can tell nintendo is rethinking their strategy with the 3ds in the west, particularly with the codename steam (attempting to appeal to the north american market), and amiibo integration next year.

Still, it needs rejuvenation.

can you really say that for the WIi?

OT lets be real handheld are becoming less important in the west. Doesnt help that nothing of significance has released here, doesnt mean you cant still enjoy it. I know i am.

I'll wait until July to worry about the 3DS sales. Like someone else said Wii U and PS4 both got huge boosts thanks to major releases.

The Wii had plenty of investment but not all of it was well directed imo-  but it stil had enough investment to have plenty of bad games and plenty of good games

Nintendo focused too much on 3D. History shows whenever Nintendo focuses on 3D or goes in that direction, they are met with consumer resistance. I'm confident Nintendo's next handheld will be killer.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.
