Forums - Nintendo - Does 3DS sales in the West literally make anyone else sick?

I'm happy. I don't care about sales, I'm not a stock investor. I have all the games I want and I could care less how many other people do. So as long as Smash and Monster Hunter 4 hit the shelves I will get my copy and again care less about how many systems actually sale. I never understand why gamers do? Is it some type of bragging rights? Idk.

You do realise where you are right? >.>

Not really? Having low sales once a while isn't really a bad thing, just wait till a big name game comes out and watch the 3ds kill everything

3DS sales in the US are low because of the lack in software. More software = more sales.

This is literally the same thread I made a couple weeks ago but with more drama added to the OP.

Ryan, you're such a drama queen.

Yep, I had to clean the puke off of my keyboard after the last update.

Will get a huge boost from Smash and might not dominate in holiday season since Wii U and PS4 also have big releases coming out then, but ya since there is no big releases right now it will probably stay around 75-80k per week

THE healthier the sales of a console (and software), the more that is invested in it *by first and 3rd party devs and the longer the lifespan-

Additionally, this is a sales focussed web site- most of us are here in part or primarilly to follow sales in the industry and or for specific consoles, games etc

can you really say that for the WIi?

The Wii had plenty of investment but not all of it was well directed imo-  but it stil had enough investment to have plenty of bad games and plenty of good games

ok thats fair. but its not like it had a longer lifespan. Hell 360 has been out longer and its still getting supported.

well actually it lasted one year longer than the previous 3 Nintendo consoles

thats pretty poor IMHO

I never really understood why they did not support the Wii longer-  I did not buy ibe untill late 2009 so we (household) had/have plenty of games to play

I know their sales dropped off pretty quick but they were still moving a lot of software-  a few more big games and who knows how log they could have pushed it-  maybe people were just demanding HD too much for the to resist at that point

Maybe its the bottle of Mikes Hard Lemonaide I just drank or maybe its just because it truly is horrible, but this situation makes me sick.

Sales are so far behind the Wii U and PS4 last week! Nearly 60,000 below the next highest selling system.

Plenty of games, three versions, multipe bundles, skins and colors. Plenty of stock and shelf space, etc. It is like life on Earth. Perfect conditions to support life. 3DS has the perfect conditions to support sales, yet struggles.

Where did Nintendo go wrong that Evolution got right?

3DS is not in the perfect position to support life and does not have the perfect conditions to support sales. The problem is that the smart phones are strangling it. I would rather play on a 3DS than a phone, but most are happy to pay 99 cents to play crap like Angry Birds. 3DS is actually doing ok.

What is really sad is how Vita is doing. I think it is a great system, but once again, smart phones.

I don't see how it's doing that bad. Most gamers in the west are pro-console gamers whereas the Japanese and more pro-handheld. Besides, I see a bunch of people with 3DS's in public. A lot of people own them. Maybe it's not doing as good as the DS but then again, no Nintendo handheld did as good as the DS.
