Why should I want to train a CPU character and use it in a match? I want to play myself, lol.
Where can they be used? Will there be special online modes where you can be assisted by an amiibo? Or amiibo vs. amiibo arenas?
Iwata used it in local multiplayer in the Digital Event, that was totally unfair against Reggie, lol. How can the ones without the GamePad use amiibos?

The disc locked content right now is rather minor, sure, but it doesn't mean that it's used the same way on later titles that it's already announced to be used with Super Smash Bros. With Super Smash Bros, it expands on character AI, customization, and stat increases. Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker and Yoshi's Wooly World are also going to use the Amiibo figures. You're not going to be creating a unique AI or customize extra characters on those games. We don't know how the Amiibo will be used witih those, but there's a good chance using an Amiibo on those games will allow the player to play an additional stage you wouldn't be able to play otherwise, adding maybe an extra playable stage per Amiibo, and only playable each time you link the Amiibo with your game.
And who knows what will happen in the future. A year or two later, Nintendo might create Amiibo version 2 and all new games that use an Amiibo will only be compatible to the new version of Amiibo. So Nintendo will be able to continue selling new Amiibo to the people who want to access all the new content.

Not sure if this really qualifies, but nevertheless, Nintendo gets praised by it's fans for anything, and I mean ANYTHING, simply because it's Nintendo. I know all fanboys have their issues, but Ninty fans are notorious for treating everything Nintendo creates as if it were god. I mean Nintendo could literally create a console that is nothing more than a pile of feces, but their fans would still love it. Even more sadly, people who are just regular fans of Nintendo (like myself) are usually afraid to say anything negative about Nitnendo in things like online forums because these rabid extremist fans swarm in droves and attack them. I'm a hardcore Sony fan; I game pretty much exclusively on their platform, but even I criticize them when they get it wrong. Hell, I thought this E3 was one of the worst in years for them, with the exception of a few trailers.
I pretty much just went on a tangent, but I hope you see where I'm getting with this.

Even if this was disc locked dlc (which it isn't) accusing SSB of nickle and diming when it will probably be one of the most content rich games ever, is kinda funny.

The amount of generalisations being spouted on this last page are quite amusing. Yeah, Nintendo fans treat everything Nintendo creates as if it were god... I guess you didn't read any of the reactions on the livestreams when STEAM was unveiled. STEAM = Sorry to everyone about Majora/Metroid.
I will buy them all...

yeah, I know what you mean. Nintendo fans do this... it also sounds like Sony fans.... and MS fans.... even sports fans such as hockey;...baseball... you know... a fan of anything.
