Speaking of gyro, why doesn't the Pro controller have it?

I hate to be the negative one on this, but I feel like this will PROBABLY be a wasted opportunity. It's still too early to really tell (obviously), but I for one did NOT want a star fox like the old 64/snes one. I really wanted a third person squad shooter with the star fox crew or something along those lines. If this just ends up being a rail-shooter than the most i'd pay for it is $5-10. I really like the star fox universe, but the genre the game started out with is just plain dead, dated and boring and really holds the series back.

Ugh, anything but that. Starfox should never leave his vehicles; when he does, awfulness ensues.

If you want a TPS, get Splatoon. Or Gears of War/Uncharted.

1 year?  Now I'm worried this is gonna be a small downloadable title.

So they're looking for an outside development partner to handle the game for release next year, huh?

Too bad Factor 5 is defunct... they'd have been the perfect candidate given their history with the awesome Rogue Squadron series.

I hope they give it to a western developer, maybe even start up a new studio. Nintendo needs more western devs in their stable, as Retro can only handle so much.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

I don't believe that a pure rail shooter star fox would do so well. Many people dont value replayability or solid level design as much as they used to. It has to have something else in order to appeal to a wide audience.

Has he ever left his vehicle before?

2 times: Star Fox Adventures and Star Fox Assault.

The former was an adventure style game like Zelda, and by far the most hated game in the franchise. In the latter Fox used weapons like a blaster, grenades, machine guns, etc, it was also hated by fans, although not as much as Adventures.

You can have non-rail missions without resorting to horrible on-foot sequences.
