So, it's official because 3 weeks earlier MS had SHIPPED 80m, compared to Sony?
Yeah. That's as official as TLG's cancellation. Grasping for straws.

looking at NPD reports and watching how it performs horribly every other place in the world, I don't believe that sorry

Do some of you actually believe that MS has over 3 MILLION Xbox 360's on store shelves? That ridiculous.
Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287

Irrelevant to the thread, but I shall warn you, that isn't Sony support. All those games are from third-party.
| kowenicki said: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=129135 This is as accurate as it gets shipment wise. You did all know that ms announced 80m almost a month before Sony right? the PS3 and 360 are VERY close in shipments with MS probably slightly ahead by a one or two hundred k. VGC has PS3 ahead by over a million. Its bollocks. |
Nov 2nd vs Oct 18 = a month.... Okay 👌
| kowenicki said: you clearly arent very well informed on the shipments. Sony 80m 6h Novemebr - OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT MS 80m 17th October - OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT Actually, the safest thing to assume is the 360 is ahead because, OFFICIALLY, it is. Now that might change, it might change tonight, but right now that is how it is. |
I agree with your points but I think the safest thing to assume is that really at this point no one is ahead because the race has long been over. At this point it just seems silly and desperate for anyone to care about these numbers. The only significance they have now is what their profit can do for current gen so in that sense its great that they are still making sales, but it doesn't really matter.

OT: 360 had a year lead so a month lead in 80 million sold annoucement lends credence to the idea that the 360 could be in the lead and yet Consistently outsold by the PS3, as such its to close to tell. I'd say its a tie for Second until we here PS3 numbers.

It's true that they're 3rd party, but to assume that Sony did squat to get those games for the PS3 is silly. Also, the thing is that all of these games (with the exception of Tales of Xillia 2) could be easily made for the PS4 instead of the PS3. I think it's somewhat relevant.

It is not relevant; third-parties chose to put their games on Ps3, but that doesn't have anything to do with Sony aside from the Kingdom Hearts remix. Atelier has always released on Sony, Persona has the Playstation fanbase (though Persona Q is releasing on 3DS and the new Persona Arena Ultrimax or whatever is called is also releasing on 360), and Tales of Xillia caters for their japanese fanbase, which is on ps3.
