Problem is that we can't trust the PS3 VGC numbers either, so we have no idea whatsoever as to who's 2nd and 3rd. And why people are arguing over this is silly, especially in the context that MS ditched the 360 core audience over the last 3-4 years.

We have this number, we don't have ps3's number. Seeing as how ps3 has been overselling it for quite a while and Vgchartz tracking, it's safer to assume PS3 is still ahead until proven otherwise.

Well that's good, though I'm curious where 4 million 360s came from between late October of last year till now. It means on average they've been selling about 500,000 360s a month since late October (unless my math is off).

Those are the numbers we go by each week unless it's threads talking about ndp numbers tbh, live by the sword die by the sword.

Well if you've been following NPD ps3 has been steadily ahead of says each month. So it's safe to say they are probably ahead. Unless MS just went ahead and purchased those few million themselves which is possible but would be surprising. I seriously doubt they would do anything like that since the gen has been over for a long time now and it's set in stone that Wii ended in first ps4 ended in second and 360 ended in 3rd so those numbers are really meaningless at this point. The race is over, and its pretty silly to think you can win race by continuing to run after you've crossed the finish line. Tho it is great all 3 companies are able to make more sales off last gen, it means they can put more currency in the current race which is all that matters now.

Interesting. So it could still be in 2nd place. Oh well, what difference does it make since there's no point in arguing over the sales of these consoles again.
