Titanfall 2 will betray the XB1 if it goes multiplat.

This thread is rather silly considering Call of Duty regularly outsells every other game on every platform and it's multiplat.  I assume you're referring to Watchdogs specifically and this is largely to be expected.  I doubt any exclusive released by Sony up to this point has had the kind of budget given to WD.  It's not uncommon for massive multi billion dollar franchises to sell more when it's available through more platforms.

Don't own either but from screenshots, live streams and HD youtube videos Infamous looks absolutely jaw dropping, runs buttery smooth and has a nice color palette.  Watch Dogs looks like it's being held back lol.

Extremly premature thread, while there is at least one or two multiplat games that will sell better than any exclusive, GTA and COD the sony heavy hitters have not arrived yet.

Just wait for GT7...with morpheus support. Or wait for uncharted. That game has acquired the "buy, just because its uncharted" pedigree. Or wait for cory's GOW.

3rd party publishers have always dominated PlayStation software sales, outside of the Gran Turismo games.

Gen 7 and PS3 was just different to PS2/PS for Sony, because for the first time they needed significant output from the 1st party thanks to Microsoft buying everything up for the 360 and making it a software powerhouse.

With Gen 8 you can probably just expect more of the same as what we got from PS3 post Slim/Cut, where they finally flexed some muscle. A great 1st party with the best 3rd party software available. Nothing to worry about, nothing to get excited about.

This is just gonna be a re-run of Gen 7, software-wise.

The PS brand has always largely been defined by 3rd party games. Which Sony saw was a big problem last gen when 3rd parties basically used 360 as the lead platform.

This is why ANY big electronics maker can take Sony's place if they were to leave gaming. A Samsung PS and a Sony PS would see little to no difference.

The reality is, Playstation has always had the most diverse fanbase. They like all different types of games and don't give a cat's left kidney if they're exclusive or not. It's not a fanbase that will buy stuff just because it's made by Sony; it's also not a fanbase that will ignore quality third-party games just because they aren't made by Sony.

This is an atmosphere that Sony has fostered by producing games of all different types and at all different price points. From Journey to Unfinished Swan to ICO to Gran Turismo to Ratchet & Clank to Uncharted to Puppeteer. They are all over the map and I love it. That's exactly what I want, even if each game isn't to my taste, even if that means the fanbase doesn't specialize in one or two genres. Sony, through World Wide Studios and their third-party support, hasn't simply allowed diversity to grow, they've encouraged it thrive.

That is awesome. I want that.
