The primal or prehistoric forms strangely reminds me of this episode http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/EP072 back in the day. I was only 8years old at the time but I remember a giant ancient Gengar/Allakhazam/jigglipuff all with markings fighting. It was 16years ago so there is no way it was planned, I'd even doubt they got their inspiration from it, but their is similarities (ancient pokémons with markings).

If I had to name one pokémon for my wishlist of mega evos, It would be Noctowl. He is one of my favorite pokémon but he is useless compared to most other bird pokémon. And make him Flying/Psychic. But If I'd had to guess, I think both Ludicolo and Nuzleaf will get a mega.

OT: I also hope they use the idea of primal forms to make fossil pokémon cool. The idea of dinosaur pokémons is great, but none of them with the exception of Aerodactyle reached their total potantial (altho X/Y fossils are close)

Nah, just new forms. Mega's are arguably new pokemon in a way.

Total Count for this gen is 72 new pokemon (kalos) and so far an extra 35 mega evolution (33 if Kyogre+Groundon dont count) and thats if there are no more mega evo in this game. So we got over 105 pokemon

I wonder if the story will be exactly the same as for G/S or if they will twist it. The mega evolution and antic Groudon and Kyogre are already a quite big twist. The map is fine, but they need to import all the improvement so we don't feel we are going backwards.

XY were absolutely fantastic. R/S being redone like XY is big.

And I only played Emerald, so only could fight Steven once, but wasn't he mostly a steel trainer? Wouldn't a Mega Aggron be a better Pokemon for him to use than Charizard X?

I'm also curious to see if we can customize Brendan and May later on in the game like we could for what his face and Serena in X and Y.

Actually, steven is a stone lover, so he uses rock type pokemon. Since the mega stones are, well, stones, any pokemon that mega evolves is good for him.

HeartGold/SoulSilver were great games that built upon only remaking them, this will be the same and more so yes

you forgot fire red and leaf green:Psoleron remake is not always meaning ,that is the same as the original:pthe remain contains 6 generation pokemon and the changes which brought(fairytype megaevolution etc:P ...so story will have been modified:P
