Do you play modern Pokemon games or are you just one of those people who stopped after Gold/Silver because it all "turned to crap" after that?

OT: Mega Evolutions are the dumbest thing ever. I was hoping GameFreak wisened up and threw that idea into the trash, but I guess not. It's terrible, but hopefully I'll be able to completely skip over it like I did in X/Y.

Mega Evolution is nowhere near dumb, and your completely delusional if you thought they would take them out lmao. I dont like Piplup in fact i cant stand it, so should gamefreak take it away from future installments? Yeah think about that for a sec :0

Its a mechanic change and in fact puts competitive play into a nice setting but you wouldn't kno cuz you dont play competitive :-/

Are you seriously prepared to tolerate the exact same game yet again?

Been that way for a long time. I can't do it anymore, but sales indicate most fans can.

As a side note, Pokemon Ruby was my favorite Pokemon title so I may consider this one when it's cheaper in price. Atom Groudon sounds pretty cool.

Fanart is already up. ^_^

That's supposed to be Mega Swampert right? Looks interesting (assuming it is close to what it is in the end)

Hmm, no. Piplup is a Pokemon, Mega Evolutions are a dumb add-on that they just recently introduced. Add-on "mechanics" like this are switched or fased out a lot, much like Contests or Rotation Battles. They aren't necessary, especially when they are stupid.

And also no, Mega Evolutions are ridiculously OP. Going up against one isn't fair at all if you don't have another Mega. They mostly just seem to be annoying fan-service. (It also doesn't make sense since R/S take place in Hoenn, you know the region that didn't discover Megas. Kalos is the only one that has.)

I have played up to B/W. I have played FR/LG and HG/SS but only because I could play them for free by borrowing the carts.

No, I don't think the modern games are worse or weaker. They're just exactly the same beyond a single coat of paint.

Piplup is a stupid add on too lmao. Its a waste of a starter. See my point? Mega evolutions are here, no point in whining. Last I checked

Mega Charizard X + Mega Mawile + Mega Gengar + Mega Lucario + Mega etc >>>>>>>>>>>> Piplup lol.

If u dont like it its fine, but its pretty dumb to think improved mechanics are going to stop just cuz. Your argument is like saying Fairy Type should be removed now, NOT GOINT TO Happen.

Lasty, only one pokemon can mega evolve during battle, its perfectly balanced. Both players can use one and in some cases in competitive, you dont need a mega evo on your team to win. I can easily argue that Garchomp/Dragonite/ and all the other pseudo legendary pokemon are OP cuz there stats add up to 600 (like legendary pokemon) yet all others barely hit 525. Your dead wrong.

Its a remake but have you ever played the others? Apparently not since HG/SS uses the same new mechanics like Diamond/Pearl instead of Reverting back to GS. So your other point is irrelevant

Disagree on that last point. The only Pokemon that can really be considered Overpowered Megas are MegaGengar and MegaKangaskhan. Other than that, Megas are a viable part of the competitive community that have altered it in very interesting and fun ways. And the reason why they're not completely overpowered is that they cannot hold an item along with their Mega-Stone. Non Megas can still hold very important items like Life Orbs, Focus Sashes, Choice Items, Leftovers, while Megas cannot. So this tradeoff is very important and still gives non-Megas roles to play.

Ask TBone how much my non-MegaMandibuzz cared about his MegaCharizard X.

Megas also give previously forgotten Pokemon another chance to shine in the competitive enviornment. So it's neat to see guys like Houndoom, Aggron, and Kangaskhan back in the spotlight.
