Didn't Dan Houser say at one time that GTA would probably never be set outside the US again, that the core of the series had become a parody of American culture?

I think there's a strong possibility that GTA may set the next game in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston, or even the entire Texas Triangle. Texas is a big trendsetter these days - for better or worse. Plus, it'd be too easy to parody the extremes of Texas culture (guns, religion, immigration, politics, and the oil and beef industries). Sometimes Texas is almost a parody of itself in real life.

Its gonna be America again, probably something to do with Vice City as GTA4 was Liberty and GTA5 was San Andreas.

Possible, seeing as how Rockstar seems to be reluctant to try a setting outside of the same three places they've already done many, many times before, but what could they do with Vice City nowadays? Miami's heyday was in the 1980s, and they already covered that in the PS2 game. There wasn't anything special about Miami before then, and what's special about Miami now? Most of the interesting/bizarre stuff in Florida that makes national news nowadays happens in the northern part of the state, in places like Orlando and Jacksonville.

My realistic guess though, aside from the possiblity of Texas, would be that they will probably go back to Vegas/Las Venturas.

I thought Shenmue had that covered? Or was that Shanghai?

I'm not sure about Shenmue.. All I know is Sleeping Dogs is set in HK (totally different countries and places).

I dunno. What large cities are left? 

I think a curve ball would be fun, like a mid-western city or somwhere with completely different attitudes about life.
