So I was going through some threads and I noticed one about HW sales of the week ending May 31. It stated that the XB1 was at around 50k and the Wii U at 187k and PS4 at 201k. This got me thinking: did Watch Dogs really give PS4 sales a 80k boost? It seems a bit off for a couple of reasons.

1. It isnt an exclusive, its a multiplat. I have never really seen an all console multiplat raise HW sales so high and by 80k.

2. It did not really give XB1 a boost. XB1 only went up around 10k this week which is wierd compared to how much the PS4 went up.

I am not damage controlling or anything. I am happy that the Wii U went up like 600 percent compared to last week and that the PS4 went up too. It just wierd how a multiplat boosted HW sales on PS4 more than Infamous did. It is also wierd how Wii U did not sell better than PS4 but therw is a pretty legit reason for it. The Wii U didnt sell as much because of the bundle only being out for 2 days where as WD was out for a full week.

Is the PS4 overtracked for this week?

inFAMOUS was not even close to be as hyped as Watch Dogs...
A LOT of people were expecting this game to buy a New Gen console.

It might be overtracked, but Watch Dogs(like titanfall) was a fake exclusive. When have you ever heard someone say, "I can't wait to get Watch Dogs on my Xbox One!" I've always heard "I can't wait to get it on my PS4!"

It maybe, but PS4 hardware in the UK got a 94% boost last week so...

i know what you mean but gamers do not buy a PS4 or XB1 for multiplats but for exclusives so this is my argument.

Watch Dogs sold nearly 2 million copies on the PS4 so an 80k boost isn't that much all considered.

X1 went up 25% with no advertisements.

PS4 went up 66% with exclusive advertisements and bundles for the biggest new gen game so far.

Perfectly reasonable numbers, people questioning them are doing so because PS4 is 4x X1 and they don't like it

Do you dislike the PS4? It's overtracked.

In seriousness I wouldn't be surprised to see Watch_Dogs give an 80k boost considering how huge of a launch it had. Exclusive marketing goes a long way for certain titles.
