Title confused me but I think I agree with you maybe...

If your goal was to come across as closed-minded, you've succeeded with flying colors.

The whole "this product is different from what I enjoy/am used to, therefore it shouldn't be allowed to exist" line of thinking is incredibly childish. If you have a problem with other people being offered the oppertunity to enjoy something because you don't enjoy it, there is something wrong with you.

Is it lonely up there on your high horse?

I still see Ryse as a complete game more than both Heavy Rain and Beyond which imo are more like interactive movies. Of course they'll be marketed as cinematics experiences and people who enjoy these will brag about graphics and story because gameplay isn't their strong point.

Ryse has graphics, story and they tried to fit decent gameplay mechanics in there but it needed more work.

People were harsh with this game for many reasons I will not talk about. Hope Crytek comes with another Ryse. It's not as bad as some would want you to believe.

What was wrong with Heavy Rain's gameplay?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Oh the irony.

He's expressing an opinion that games trying to be movies end up being mediocre games and mediocre movies. You're telling him that he's closed-minded for daring to express such an opinion. And by doing so, you're actually demonstrating your own closed-mindedness.

If you have a problem with other people having an opinion different to your own, there is something wrong with you.

Theres nothing wrong with ryse gameplay. don't what people expected from it. the gameplay is meant to replicate how the romans in those times would have fought . Ryse replicates it perfectly. with all that gear you cannot expect marius to fly around like go kratos did. Plus the fighting system is exactly like the batman games. in a way its better in ryse as you have perfect block and parrry. the combat in ryse truly shines pn the hardest difficulty as you cannot button bash to victory.

It seems to me that you have a problem with him expressing his opinion because it's different than yours. Cinematic games can be good. Any type of game can be good. It just depends on the game. You're showing your own closed-mindedness by disregarding an entire genre of gaming simply because you don't like the idea of it.

Heavy rain and beyond 2 souls seemed like great games for those who have interest in psychology and imo both games exceeded my expectations. Rose seemed like a dudebro game marketed for the GOW audience but failed by all standards. It also had the bad luck of being a former 360 kinect game :/

HR doesn't have particular interesting gameplay to be honest. The story may be good but all you do is looking for the next trigger event that'll show you a cut scene. Your character, even if he's in a realistic environment, behaves more like a robot than anything, walking around constantly moving his head looking at triggers... I'm sorry but that was annoying imo. The only time I though the game shined was when there was a cut scene other than that not much to be excited gameplay wise.

Right, on the interweb people were looking at Ryse as MS's answer to GoW. But it seemed more like Crytek was just trying to make a pretty game with a decent story. I blame marketing!

I don't think being a former Kinect game was an issue.
