Still, the Euro is worth more than the US dollar, so at 400 Euro, it would be $545.32, that's just crazy. 500 Euro would be $681.65. Even at 250 Euro, it's a very good deal for $340.82 which would be a $200 difference (adjusted US value) to buy a Wii U.

Bold: Wat? We earn (much) less then in America. Europa pay more on most products because of all the goverment taxes - energy costs alone are double (if not triple in Germany) in Europe.

The free game btw is available with MK8 in many regions.

This Basic edition surely must rank as one of Nintendo's most stupid decisions. Was flash memory really that expensive? The only time buying this makes any sense is when its on sale for ridiculous prices as this and if you're willing to buy a USB HDD to use with it.

If you include the top 1% US Americans that are indeed much much richer than the top 1% in Europe, then yes.
Otherwise, counting only people that don't have a yearly salary of 1.000.000 (Euro or Dollar, really doesn't matter), then no it's pretty much the same for a country like the Netherlands.
Of course countries like Romania, Greece, Croatia being far under the US average and Luxembourg, Switzerland, Norway being far above the US.
Today i bought a Wii U Premium (Nintendoland) for 1999SEK in Swedens biggest supermarket chain ICA MAXI.
That is 1600SEK whithout VAT.
1600SEK equals £135 - €166 - $225.

I have a Basic edition and it is very good. As prices for downloads are higher than retail I have no use of a lot of memory.
