Yes please. I need a complete Pokemon collection with Fire Red and Leaf Green.

I don't understand why they can't reprogram the games to have the 3DS's IR work as a link cable. They're too lazy.

That seems to be the logic behind Pokemon. And yet, this IP is owned by the same people that turn down the huge Scrooge McDuck vault of gold that they would be swimming in if they would just go ahead and do a Pokemon MMO on a console. You can't get more social than that outside of a weekend tourney.

Releasing the first two generations on 3DS Virtual Console (with cross-system trading intact) would be such a gift to fans. I've managed to get the originals on eBay, but by emulating the games on 3DS, Nintendo could save consumers a lot of money and a lot of heartache over dead batteries and counterfeit copies.

That, and I reckon they want everyone focusing on the current games, plus they figure that the resources and cost, no matter how miniscule they may be, aren't worth it.

I wonder how popular this would be:

1. Put Pokemon R/B/Y on the 3DS eShop and Stadium on the Wii U eShop. Or better yet, all on both.

2. In the first scenario, have the Wii U read the eShop as a link cable, as you suggested. In the second, having the games on one system allows Stadium to just read the data from the R/B/Y files.

3. Simple online. Just take the two player battle mode and connect it to an online lobby.

It would be so awesome if Pokemon Snap would come out for the WiiU VC and if it would give you the option to play with the GamePad!  I would buy that in a heartbeat!

If I was an important man in Nintendo, I'd have an intern look at every single game in my company's history, make a list of all that we could re-release without stepping on any licensing toes or publishing disputes, and then scour the prices of each one sites like eBay, Amazon and import sites. Every game that has an import or used cart/disc purchase price north of $100 USD would be available for you to download already. Threads celebrating finding Xenoblade for a fair price or me debating on whether to spend $70 on a used Fire Emblem wouldn't have to exist.

I'm amazed that game has never gotten a sequel. The 3DS and Wii U were made for it.

I would be OK with Pokken Fighters, but I would honestly prefer a Pokemon Snap sequel!

^^^ A new Pokemon Snap game utilizing the gamepad's features should be a no-brainer. Why Nintendo hasn't already done this gives one some serious pause about their overall business and software strategy these days.
