Honestly they should at least do it for the 3rd games of each gen (Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Etc.) because we all know they won't release a remake for any of those.

They usually incorporate features from the third games into the remakes though, like the Suicune side mission in HGSS.

On topic: They won't do it, because the game logic has changed, and is not compatible with the new games. People would complain about that, and the dated mechanics would scare away or confuse potential X/Y/Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire customers who are new to Pokémon. And yes, it sucks for us who love the old ones.

Yep.

I hope someone has pointed out by now that the Oracle games interact through passwords. No link cable was ever required to connect them, and they are 100% functional on the Virtual Console -- you can even connect a VC version of one game to a physical GBC version of the other.

Why would they when they can remake them with online and everything.

Yes.

Once Iwata gets replaced.

Does anybody know which Pokemon games you can trade between?

Gen 1 and 2 can trade together. 3 and onwards can trade, I think some of the older ones need to go through the older games first though rather than trading directly with the newest ones.

So gens 1 and 2 are cut off from 3 onwards?

And the rest can only trade with a generation above or below?

Gen 1 & 2 were remade so they now have access to 3 and up.

Since 3DS isnt compatible with GBA i believe u have to first trade a GBA Pokemon to a DS Pokemon then to a 3DS Pokemon, i could be wrong tho but when counting remakes all gens can be traded to the new installments by some method.

I own pretty much ever pokemon game from ever era, but I am missing some like Yellow(I had it but I sold it to a friend in high school). I would like to get them so I'm hoping Nintendo puts them up on the VC.

We need to get rid of Iwata as soon as possible in this case!

They'd have to recode something for the link cable. No one would be happy about not being able to catch every pokemon in the game, especially when it's actually a feasible task in the first couple gens! (;

I admit... I'd buy one of R/B/Y at least for sure. Maybe one of G/S/C too.

But while we're on the topic of pokemon, I have to say one thing. Whether or not we get the old ones on VC or a Poke-MMO... the thing I want most from pokemon is multiple save files on the same card. Deleting my profile to start over again isn't fun. It probably won't change with OR/AS, and I will be disappointed accordingly.

The only Pokémon game I want on the VC is Pokémon Snap! (I know it's on Wii, but waiting for it to make it to the WiiU VC)

I have great memories of the first pokémon games, but I'm not interested in coming back to them, it would feel to much like a step backward for me to fully want to give the time these games require.
