Forums - Nintendo - Is Ubisoft done with supporting Wii U?

Sales of Assassin's Creed seems to have peaked with AC III (even though Black Flag was a better game), Splinter Cell has peaked a long time ago, Just Dance peaked on the Wii, Prince of Persia peaked on the PS2, Rayman has peaked, Rayman Legends was a disaster on all platforms.
Far Cry may still grow stronger.
It is up to Watchdogs and the Crew to reinvent Ubisoft.

You buy a Nintedo console to play Nintendo games... the rest is just the icing on the cake, if not released you as a gamer will either have a PS4 or Xone or both to play them.

Actually, the large majority of my 3DS games are third-party. Less than a third of my library is first-party, and that seems like it will be smaller in the immediate future (E3 can change that, of course). Expand to non-VC digital and it's closer to a fifth.

But with the 3Ds 3rd parties has no choice( one with 85% and the other with 15% of the market) if they want to make some money.

What it really comes to is that so many people have been "burned" by buying 3rd party games on Nintendo "consoles" that they/we have had enough.

Why buy multiplatform games on the Wii u when you get probably the same game with a lower price and more DLC or get it 6 mornth after the rest(these are just the least offensive methods 3rd parties use)... why even bother buying it when you know the majority of the comunity are on PS4/Xone

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

Demonstrably, many of them disagree. Western third-parties are largely AWOL: the Vita received as much (if not more) Western third-party support. 3DS gets WayForward stuff, Vita gets Call of Duty/Assassin's Creed/Walking Dead/Borderlands etc. Japan leans more towards the 3DS, but nowhere near the ratio the sales figures would suggest.

Yup. They're done.

I know Ubisoft hasn't made the most games for Wii U (and won't) but it has made the best 3rd party titles. AC3 and 4 are amazing, even if they are inferior to other versions they were great to pick up. Rayman Legends if by far one of the most beautiful games to date on Wii U and is every bit original. Still doesn't compete with 3D World or WindWaker HD in my books, but I really enjoyed it. I never looked into getting Splinter Cell but would like to get Watch Dogs

I prefer to concentrate on games that are coming to Wii U, rather than the ones that arent. For every missed Assassins Creed or Far Cry, is an X, Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2 etc. If Ubi decide to bring any of its games to Wii U, i will take an interest, but i wont be shedding a tear if they dont either.

I also have been very grateful to Ubi for the support they have shown for Wii U, they have alienated a few Nintendo fans but im not one of them.

I am amazed Ubisoft has supported the Wii U for as long as it has- To date, UBI has supported the Wi U nearly as much as if not more then Nintendo- It sucks their games have not sold better- ACIV and Rayman Legends are both excellent games that should have sold better on the Wii U-

Both the PS4 and XB1 have sold more (a lot more) ACIV games than the Wii U even though the game was released on the Wii U before the 2 other consoles

I just hope they still release Watchdogs for the Wii U- W out Ubi the Wii U has pretty much been a Mario/platformer console w little diversity in its library- so losing Ubi is going to hurt people like our family who enjoy a little more diverse gameplay opportunities -

Ubi can t be blamed for dropping support though- I m sure they have lost a lot of many on the Wii u - at least for most of their games

The notable Ubisoft games released on Wii U. (I don't think these numbers include digital.)

0.67 - ZombiU
0.32 - Rayman Legends
0.27 - Just Dance 2014
0.25 - Assassin's Creed III
0.24 - Just Dance 4
0.17 - Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Not surprising but i do wish things were different. They were really trying with Wii U, such a shame. ZombiU, Rayman Legends, AC3 and AC4 were all great. Oh well

I hope that they do, Ubisoft is my favorite third-party publisher. Sucks that Rayman didn't do good.

Yep.
