I have some reasons, the games actually cost the same, I hate DLC and the comunity on Wii U is just too good to be true, you find a lot of educated people willing to help you. I don't have a PS4 or a Xbox One because those are still too expensive and the PS3 comunity kind of sucks when you are online.
I know I am part of the minority but I do buy 3rd party games for the console, even over the PS3 version when available.
