Forums - Sales - Xbox One won't catch PS4.

@Beelite -----> lack of 1st party games : Xbox one has atm more first party titles released then PS4. if i am not mistaken ps4 has 4 first party including MLB while xbox one has at least 10 from memory lol. I do agree with the indie part however i don't like the fact that ps4 is flooded with them as well.

@DogRemag -- If ps3 truly surpassed xbox 360 in terms of overall sales,, Sony would have bragged about it since it would be a pretty good achievement from sony .

We all know this. Mainland Europe and Japan are just too much geography in Sonys favor.

But if it wins where we personally live, a local victory where our personal friends and family choose X1 over PS4, then I'll take that any day.

Because at the end of the day, I could care less what the Spanish or what the Japanese or whatever prefer. I care about what console people play most where I live.

Most European countries teach English, I have a few germans and french people on my PSN that speak perfect English, alot of users on Vgchartz have English as there 2nd language and you wouldn't know any different.

Although it being the same price as the PS4 puts it on level playing field one glaring issue remains the same. PS4 is simply still more  powerful, I feel like (and this has been stated by several other users) MS should of just dropped the price to $350. I'm not exactly sold on Xbox being able to compete globally with PS4 at the same price, in fact I still think PS4 will easily beat Xbox in most markets. The wild card is N. America they have shown to never really be brand loyal, but I do think Xbox can and will win this reigon, partially due to the fact that Xbox has done well with it's current price tag of $500. Don't mistake that as me thinking Xbox will dominate N. America either, I think it'll be 55-45 in favor of Xbox.

Anyway what do you think? (This is an opinion piece therefore  I could be completely wrong)

It wouldn't compete globally at $350 USD equivalent either. PS3 vs 360 pretty much proves that. Also for if xb one merely retains price parity with PS4 I think the best it can expect head to head in USA is 51:49. It needs to be that $50 or more cheaper to get a 10% market share lead on PS4 IMO.

I believe Microsoft will win North America again. China and other global markets as well.

Don't care. I just wanna see the X1 continue to perform better than Wii U and hopefully get a userbase at par with the 360 or better.

It doesn't need to be ahead of PS4 to get great support.

Even a $349 X1 would get outsold by the ps4.

That is a very good point, same should be said if the PS4 was in the opposite postition.

It would be said, for sure. I think 3rd party support is a given on both consoles, no WiiU situation. Games don't play worse or are less fun if the userbase is less (until it's so small that multiplayer games would be singleplayer-games, of course ).

The whole reason why the XB1 is selling at 399 is because the XB1 couldn't outsell the XB1 while including Titanfall so they had to drop the price. Their better launch line-up couldn't help. All the changes Microsoft made it to be competitive. It is a good thing because now Microsoft is more humble than arrogant with their success with the 360.

Now games will make the bigger difference. It will be interesting to see how lasting Microsoft's PR nightmare have an effect on their sales and see what both Sony and Microsoft have in store at E3 which will definitely impact sales. In the end, there is no way Microsoft will take Japan or Europe. Europe could sale twice as many XB1s, they still would sale less at this point. The ratio of sales been 3:1. I don't need to mention Japan. In the States, Sony had been winning. I think Microsoft could possibly sale more but not the numbers they did with the 360.
