We all know this. Mainland Europe and Japan are just too much geography in Sonys favor.

But if it wins where we personally live, a local victory where our personal friends and family choose X1 over PS4, then I'll take that any day.

Because at the end of the day, I could care less what the Spanish or what the Japanese or whatever prefer. I care about what console people play most where I live.

Sounds like you are trying to convince yourself, I do care about Japan I like their games.

I care about Japan also, reason why I bought a PS4.

So what you're saying is that you base your console of choice by deciding to buy whatever console everyone else around you is buying, right?

I like japanese games, but I don't care what the average japanese gamer buys....

If the average japanese gamer bought more Xbox consoles you would get more support from devs and more games like Jojos All Star Battle for example.

Just saying times are a changing and you are still stuck in 2013. Having nothing to back yourself up except "my console sells more globally" is lowering the bar for yourself

i think you are scraping the barrel for any positive spin.  Reality is PS4>XB1 regardless of games, apps, etc.  Sales prove it, price drops + bundle and still not outselling proves it, and game tastes are different.  6 months in and most "hardcore gamers" have already purchased their system of choice.  General consumers are looking for best bang for the buck.  Without the kinect, the XB1 lost its main selling point.. now it's just a weaker console compared to the ps4 at the same price point.   Saying times are changing while ignoring the present puts yourself into the straw grasping category.  I think it's you who needs to pull out of the 360 glory days and face the changes happening around you.

And to note.. Even 360's glory days couldn't stop the PS3 from eventually outselling it worldwide even at a year's head start.  NA+UK only < The world.

What can I say, if the X1 is a solid console and MS keeps positively supporting it, then losing to geographical brand disparities doesn't bother me too much. It's fun to brag that you are winning, but were all gamers in the end.

Personally I don't care if console a outsells console b as long as the console I have have games I like to play regardless if I'm in the minority or majority.  Just irks me when folks disregard reality.

Man.. I hate it when your girl has to leave my place to come back to you..

I've been saying this for a while. Dropping Kinect is a mistake. What they needed was to cut the price to $399 with Kinect. Either that, or yes, $300-350 for the base model. As it is, they'd better include a retail game at that $400 price tag.

Well this is only year 1.

2015 could have that pricing model you are thinking of. Gotta space it out.

Yes, what gems I will be missing out on ;)

Well the big Japanese developers will be multiplatting their titles. Dead Rising 3 is an exclusive, which surprised me. MS will make deals like always.

Nope what I am saying is that fanboys get validation from sales numbers. While someone may feel happy knowing their console is winning somewhere else, if their own local game stores and peers don't feel the same way, it does have an impact.

I just go where Halo goes.

But by 2015, the PS4 might be getting a price cut, or at least some bundles. The goal should be to get the Kinect model to at least within $50 of the PS4, however much that is, and for the base model to be somewhat cheaper than whatever Sony's asking for at the time, IMO.

Well nevermind 2015, 2014 is still not even half done. Let the adopters buy up this new sku and MS can easily have something else ready for the holidays. MS likes to have something sell for a few months, move on to the next selling point, and so on.

Mar-May is Titanfall/bundles. June-September is the $399 SKU. Oct-December......we shall see.
