2015 could have that pricing model you are thinking of. Gotta space it out.

But by 2015, the PS4 might be getting a price cut, or at least some bundles. The goal should be to get the Kinect model to at least within $50 of the PS4, however much that is, and for the base model to be somewhat cheaper than whatever Sony's asking for at the time, IMO.

Well nevermind 2015, 2014 is still not even half done. Let the adopters buy up this new sku and MS can easily have something else ready for the holidays. MS likes to have something sell for a few months, move on to the next selling point, and so on.

Mar-May is Titanfall/bundles. June-September is the $399 SKU. Oct-December......we shall see.
